This is our go-to Chinese restaurant in the west Portland, area. It's a family-run restaurant with ongoing owner supervision, and it shows. The decor is beautiful, and the restaurant is consistently clean. The food is tasty, well-presented, and comprised of high quality ingredients. The ala carte items are comparably priced, but I'd like to see more combination dinners, with a wider price range. We'll continue to go back, again and again.

I went in to eat. The service was horable and the food terrible! The main manager or owner stands at the entrance. He is arrogant and did not resolve my concerns about the meal. Don't ever go there!

I have eaten at China Bay since 2004 when I moved to Portland, Oregon from Seattle. A friend took me there for lunch and I was hooked. Their food is awesome, and the restaurant itself is very beautiful. I adore this restaurant and can't say enough about it. I like to go there for lunch, they have lunch specials under $6: sweet n' sour chicken, brocoli beef, etc. and you get large portions so you probably will take some home to eat later (great re-heated too). The lunch special comes with choice of egg flower or hot n' spicy soup (soups are VERY delicious- wow) and then you get a main course and rice (choice of white or stir fried rice) and you get some pan fried noodles and a wonton - the wonton is so good. It has a bit of cream cheese and crab meat in it. I always look forward to the wonton which looks almost like a swan, it is very decorative in shape. The restaurant decor is lovely, and there is a large mural on the wall of the great wall of china. That mural is so beautiful I just keep staring at it. The tables have table cloths on them with a glass top over. It is a classy place. The owner is very kind, and often he walks about and asks how everyone is doing. All the wait staff is super and very attentive. Try China Bay. It is great. You can get take out also. For example, the lunch specials under $6 can be taken out but you don't get the bowl of soup. The dinner prices are higher, however, you get much larger portions so that is understandable. The lunch specials are honored even on weekends, so why not try it this Sunday after church? Again, the food is delicious and you will love this place. Sincerely, Nancy from Beaverton, Oregon.
