this is a beautyfull place to come and connect with mother nature. Just sitting, smelling and looking at all the trees and animals is so relaxing.

“How to see a 5-Star National Forest”
Reviewed 22 August 2013 via mobile

DNF is outstanding. Well run and with something for everyone four seasons a year. The list of attractions, both front country and wilderness, is too long to list and too extensive to appreciate without multiple visits.
One day? Drive around Century Drive/ Cascade Lakes Highway, stopping at Mt Bachelor and one or two lakes.
Two days? Learn about the region's volcanic heritage at Lava Lands / Newberry Volcanic Monument and choose one or two other volcanic sights to visit.
Three days? Take a hike, climb a mountain, or paddle a lake or two.

“Beautiful. Check out Paulina Lake”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

We drove up to East Lake and Paulina Lake in this forest. Make sure to go for lunch at the little cabin on Paulina Lake. The food's not great, but it's a fun experience. Have a local beer, like we did: Paulina Lake Pilsner! You can also rent fishing boats.

“Lava Fields”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

While on this scenic route, all of a sudden we were in the lava fields. Have never seen anything like this before, so we enjoyed it greatly. It's not so beautiful, but it is what happened years ago and so it is a part of history. It must have really surprised the early explorers when they traveled through this area.
