“Less than impressed with apathetic service”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

Gave it another chance after being treated weird for being alone by a bartender several months ago. My BF and I went for dinner last night, A Sunday. We were seated immediately. Love the Ipad menu for drinks.
The waiter could not wait to get us out of his area. We were on a date, and would have appreciated some stellar service, but he was not having any of it. He was efficient, but lacked any sort of conversation. Sadly, we are looking for a "date place" when BF is in town and this won't be it. Our date was expensive which would be fine if the service was fun. But it wasn't. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about. My wine was delicious, though.

“Mostly good food, but noisy - 3 ½ stars?”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

We had dinner at this restaurant with another couple. It used to be down by the river but relocated into town a few months back. it is now in the former forestation. It was a Wednesday, and still pretty busy. We had no problem getting reservations earlier that afternoon. There was open street parking nearby. The (inevitable) brick lined interior was fairly pleasant, but the acoustics were terrible, resulting in a noise level that really preluded comfortable conversation, especially across a banquette, which is what we had.
I had a caesar salad which was a good size and had an excellent dressing. My main course was a 12 oz ribeye, which was cooked to a perfect even medium rare, although I lost 1-2 ounces to un-chewable gristle. 10oz of good steak was more than ample for me. The accompanying veg was fine, if a little basic. The fries were far from the best however, and very salty. For dessert I had a good berry cobbler à la mode. My wife's small fillet was good. Our friends seems to enjoy their food also. Overall, the prices felt a tad high.
One excellent feature was that the wine list comes on an iPad. This made exploring the list easy and interesting. You could tap to get more info, and create a short list of wines you are considering before making a final selection. The wines run the full gamut on style and price, and there are some fairly decent lower priced red wines among the "interesting reds", Italian, Spanish and Australian reds.
One slight negative was that he waiter seemed a bit full of himself and a little pushy with his opinions.
Bottom line, I'd rate this as "Good" rather than either "Average" or "Very Good", but that option isn't available on this site...

This lovely restored red brick former fire station has done a a beautiful job with its decor and food preparation. There were seven of us and all dinners were fantastic. Our server was great and attentive with a wonderful sense of humor
