“Affordable Accommodation, Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013

Two friends and I stayed in the backpackers' rooms for a couple of nights. I've stayed in a lot of hostels, and have to say that the value for money here was pretty unbeatable. For $30 we had a bunk bed and a free full service breakfast each morning between 7-9am. The backpackers' room was quite small, but came with amenities you don't normally see at cheap places (towels, microwave, and even cute little camping lights at each bunk). The owner is super friendly accommodating and even makes eggs and waffles to order in the morning. The place has a lot of character and history and is very central. Definitely recommend if you're looking for cheap, charming and cozy.

This is an eclectic place, a little unusual. We were there during a cold snowy spell, and found it very comfortable, a just cozy! As stated above the breakfasts are awesome, and David, the proprietor is great. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Went here on my birthday. Had to call to get a door code and they left the keys on the bed in our room for us to take. There is no face to face check in but somehow they make it work. I liked the laid back way they handle things. I dont like too much up in my buisness chit chat when i check in. The rooms were very unique and nice. The place is located a short walk or drive from down town, Deschutes brewery and The Old Mill dist. Breakfast was good and there was a hottub in the back. Prices are good for the location. Good place to go if your on a budget and looking for a unique place to stay.

Room Tip: They have pictures of each room on their website, just browse and choose the one you like.

As indicated in other comments, the best thing about this B&B is the great breakfasts. They're among the best we've ever had at a B & B. The location is also very convenient ... in between the Mill District/River and Downtown. You can walk to either place and walk to about 6 brewpubs easily. The owner was a very gracious host ... even offered to let us do a load of laundry in the basement, which was much appreicated. The price we paid was also reasonable.

There is an issue with street noise. But we sometimes encounter that at B & B's and always take earplugs, which solved the problem.

Not a luxury B & B, but in our view worth a stay for the breakfasts and easy access to Bend's attractions.

After looking at the website we were expecting unusual, but what we weren't expecting was a very dirty kitchen. We went into the kitchen (it says you can ) looking for the hot water tap by the sink what we saw upset us so much we decided not to risk eating breakfast there. It was such a pity because previous tripadvisor reviews all talk about the amazing breakfasts. What a pity because the rest of the hotel was immaculate, so check the kitchen out!!.

We stayed for one night in June 2012 and were simply blown away but just how lovely the innkeeper was. Not only did he cook the most amazing breakfast, he also insisted we take lots of it away for a picknick later that day. We hadn't come across anyone so service-oriented, flexible and friendly in a long while.

Having told him that I am a very light sleeper, he even put us into a quieter room specially. I am not sure what the noise levels would have been like if the inn had been fully occupied, but as it was, we slept really well.

A great experience all round - thank you for having us.

I've stayed here twice. There is no staff, really. You're kind of on your own, which I really like. It's a B and B, so you can get to know the other guests, if you like. The breakfast is great, but what really put's the whole experience over the top are the home made Belgian waffles. The service is a bit informal, but again, that is, in this case, a really nice, relaxing addition. If I could change anything, it would be to sound proof the rooms a little better. You can hear the other guest talking out in the breakfast room. Otherwise, this is a perfect little place and I will stay here again.

Room Tip: get one with a bathroom if you are past a certain age.
