Travelling North on Highway 20 from Bend, Oregon towards Sisters, there is a rather large red barn type building with a HUGE sunflower on the side ~ you seriously cannot miss it! It's caddy-corner to the Tumalo Feed Company. We happen to notice signs for a place called TAW Gallery outside along with some pretty interesting ~ uh, ~ garden art, so we decided to pull in and take a look. Oh my....NOTHING AT ALL WHAT WE EXPECTED!! First off, the Art Gallery is absolutely beautiful. The moment we walked in we were greeted in a friendly, warm fashion by the owner, Doe Badley, who told us a little about her Gallery. She left us to wander and gaze at the beautiful sculptures, paintings, ceramic pieces, jewelry, etc. she has there only to return a few moments later with some nice, cold homemade lemonade! What??? Talk about feeling welcome! She has some wonderfully gifted artists that she represents. And not once did we feel pressured. When we had a question about a certain piece, Doe was able to answer it in a way that made sense to us ~ non-artist people!
This place is between Bend and Sisters. 3 miles past the Cascade shopping mall. It is WELL worth the stop!! There is something for everyone in here. It's warm, inviting and we will definitely be back!
