If you are planning a trip anytime of year, include BEND OREGON at the top of your list of places to visit. The city sits in the middle of the Deschutes National Forest, at the base of the Cascade mountains and has the Pacific North Wests famous ALE TRAIL. We took the BIKE TOUR where about 12 people sit around a bar on wheels and each stool has a peddel and everyone works to make the bike/bar go and the driver guieds everyone to through the town and to the various breweries. In addition, 30 golf courses, a ski resort within minutes, and thre rivers, with so many lakes I could never list them all. Down town has free concerts, events and festivals year around. It is a place for all ages and beyond Bend there are resorts, great fishing and culture. In Feb. we stayed at Eagle Crest resort where the Oregon state Golden Gloves Boxing tournement was held, it was fun and we were able to meet several of the boxers who later went on to win Nationals. Oh ..one more thing, DOG FRIENDLY!!! ranks as the number one city for DOGS.

“Fun, entertaining, with disappointing reward”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

The Visitor's Bureau promotes a silipint reward for visiting 11, take note, 11 breweries. You get a dinkie Tommy sippie cup container. Definately note a pint, that the silipint infers. Visiting the breweries was entertaining because of the variety. You also get to see the entire town of Bend, which is a great place to visit, which we did by biking. There is a great application for the phones to get the passporrt stamp. Do the ale trail for the fun, but do not do the trail for the whimpy reward. The Visitor's center should be embarassed.
