My wife and I spent a relaxing few days recently staying along the Chetco River at The Chectco River Inn. We rented the Rockhouse cottage that overlooks the Inn's vineyard, and loved the cozy loft bedroom with its upstairs windows facing the river. We spent time walking along this very private stretch of the Chetco River (only saw one group float by the entire time), enjoying the Inn's seats that overlook the river, taking a beautiful 1/2 day hike up the nearby Chetco Gorgue, and preparing most of our meals in the cottege's kitchette (we did drive the 30 minutes into Brooking for one dinner, but the gorgeous drive along the river made it seem like half that time). I can't imaging a more perfect and romantic couples getaway spot. We hope to return again in the late fall for our anniversary.
