We were passing through in our RV and decided we HAD to stay another day. I cannot say enough good things about camping at this State Park! We chose a spot in Campground A, which put us in the loop away from any highway noise so it was nice and quiet. The bathrooms were amazingly clean and nicely tiled with vaulted wood ceilings. No cost for a shower and the water was nice and hot. Plenty of facilities so no wait for a shower.
We used the laundry facility which was available from 7 AM to 9 PM. The dryers, like most in such places, left the clothes pretty damp, even after a couple hours of drying. Washers were $1 and dryers $1.25. There was a coinchanger in the laundry room.
An amazing walking path takes you down to the beach by way of flowers, rocks, etc. one can also drive a short distance to the picnic area and descend using ramps and steps. The beach is beautiful with enormous boulders, splashing waves , tidal pools and drift wood. Dogs are permitted on trails and the beach, on leash. I have a German Shepherd and all our walks turned up ZERO evidence of other dogs; Everyone is conscientious here and picks up.
The cost per night for an RV was $28, a yurt is $43 and a tent is $20. Disabled Veterans with a service related disability are allowed to spend ten days without fee at an Oregon State Park, but no more than five at an individual park.
Great restaurants in town and by the Harbor only a couple miles away in Brookings.
