The park is just off of Highway 101 about four miles north of Brookings. Even in the middle of summer you will often find only a few cars in the parking lot. You are guaranteed to find a beuatiful spot with just you and the waves. It's not a wind surfing spot but it's great for kids running in the waves or playing on the sandy beach. And at low tide you can find interesting things in the tide pools around the rocks.

“OR State Park Beach, Lone Ranch”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Take the walk from the parking lot down to the beach. NOT ADA. But few make the walk and the beach is almost yours alone! Wide, sandy shore with near by islands. Tide pools at low tide. Stream runs through it to the ocean. Couldn't hear 101. Solitude at its best.

This is one of our favorites...... great place to walk and sit in the sand and watch waves. There are picnic tables overlooking the beach.

“Our favorite quiet beach!”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Only negative is bathrooms are a distance from the beach, which is tricky if you have young kids. We love the quiet atmosphere and tide pools.

“Wonderful peek at nature”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

A great beach, with tide pools and lots of room for the dogs to run. The public bathroom leaves a bit to be desired, but it was clean and we were glad it was there!
