“Great Place! Beautiful Sites on The Chetco River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

We were greeted by Connie and her son Derrick that made sure we were well taken care of. Parked our 40 ft Motorhome in space 111 right on the river, and it was one of the best places we have stayed in our years of travel. The park is clean, it attracts really outstanding guests, and we know why. It is kept meticulously clean, it is beautiful, and you are treated as a true guest. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Don't miss walking down to the river! It made our day every day!

This is absolutely the best place to stay and is close to all the beautiful places in Brookings.
We can't wait to spend another month next summer!

Room Tip: All the sites are really beautiful, and you can't go wrong!

This was one of the most peaceful RV parks we’ve stayed at. Everything was beautiful and clean, situated right on the river. We rented one of the cabins and were very pleased at the space. The mattresses that came with the cabin were not the most comfortable so I would suggest you bring an extra pad. The bathrooms were spotless and spacious as well. The showers did take a quarter to use but one quarter seemed to last 10 minutes. I was very glad that the park provided a campfire pit and camp table for the cabins as well as the RV spots. This was a perfect place to camp for getting up early to go fishing. It required very little equipment to bring since the beds, heater, tables, chairs, mirror, lights and pads were all provided. Well worth the mile drive up the Chetco River.

Room Tip: Cabins E and D are the closest to the restrooms.

After hunting and hunting we found At River's Edge in Brookings, OR. This rv park sits alongside the Chetco River and is 1.5 miles from Brookings Harbor. It is a very clean and beautiful park. We had a full hook up site for our 37' Motorhome with a tow vehicle. There are several other rv parks closer to town but this one is in a beautiful location without all the crowds. The staff is wonderful to work with. It has clean showers and a laundry facility with 3 washers and 4 dryers ($2 to wash, $.25 for 10 min ) We had absolutely no problem entering or leaving the "narrow" entryway. Don't understand the concerns mentioned on prior posts. Don't let those comments stop you from staying here. Wide open sites and they space everyone out if they have room so you don't have immediate neighbors. Most sites overlook the beautiful river and surrounding trees. Believe the river opens in October for salmon fishing. You'll love this place - quiet and tranquil, away from the crowds in town just a few minutes up the road.

Nice RV Park with a front window view of the Chetco River. Wide spaces both back-in and pull through. Friendly Staff. The drive coming down into the park is kind of narrow and steep, but we managed it well in our 40ft. Motor home. Cute little cabins to rent. Excellent Wifi and plenty of cable tv channels. Cell service also. Far enough from the coast as not to get the winds and the fog. But close enough to do some sight seeing and lunch. Clean and manicured yards. Nice place wished we could of stayed longer, we will definitely be back.

overall, this was a relatively positive stay - it was really quiet at night, much appreciated. the park was busy with fishermen coming and going but quiet. It is NOT in walking distance to the ocean beach - I read that somewhere and was disappointed that way. It IS, however, right on the Chetco river, and a few minutes out of town. Steep driveway. Very helpful people, and it was clean. NOW TO THE SHOWERS: that was the first time I actually had to put quarters into a machine to turn on the showers. Everyone walks past you showering behind a frosted glass door to put their quarters in the machine, and past your stuff on the communal bench. No privacy to get changed whatsoever, and I wouldn't let my daughters use this shower at all without standing guard. This is trouble waiting to happen. The main door has a number combo code, but it's the same as the men's shower. Go figure. Seriously, folks, renovate this! And get rid of the quarter machine, when I pay your rates I expect a long hot shower included.

Wife and I and our dog stayed here 2 nights. Glad we picked this park. Very clean, quiet, and right on the Chetco river. They have there own beach just a short walk from our site where we took the dog swimming. We camped here in a 5th wheel. We will be back.

When the weather forecast reached 104+ in the Rogue Valley, we decided to head to the beach. We love the Brookings area and usually get reservations to camp at Jedediah Smith State Park in the nearby Redwoods. However we didn't get our reservations in time, and the trailer was still in moth balls from the winter. What to do? We searched the web and discovered that At River's Edge has "Camping Cabins." These are cute little bunk houses with a fire ring and picnic table in the back yard and communal bathrooms a short walk down the street. We packed our sleeping bags, our Coleman stove and a cooler full of food and we were off.

At River's Edge is a tidy park right on the Chetco River. There is river access that leads down to a shallow sand bar area perfect for wading with kids and skipping rocks. Most of the park is dedicated to RV parking and was full in July. There are also about 8 little "camping cabins." Most of them sleep 4 with a double bed and a pair of bunk beds. Two cabins double that and sleep 8. Since most of the residents are in their own RV's it's a quiet park with only a few using the restrooms and showers, which are nicely tiled and are cleaned throughout the day. The small cabins were $45.00 a night. The larger ones $55.00.

This was not a rustic, nature filled camping experience. However, the Redwoods are 20 minutes away and there are several beaches within a 10 minute drive. We were gone most of the time anyway. The up side is that when we got home, our camping things were clean and didn't cover the house with dirt, pine needles and soot.

Things we'll take next time: quarters for the showers, fire wood and ice (you can buy them at the park, but they're rather expensive), camp pads (the ones they provide are pretty skimpy), shades for the windows (Each cabin has an outside light that can't be turned off). Also, we'll call well in advance. We were lucky and snagged a last minute cancellation. The office lady said they had been booked for months.

It was a fun experience and I highly recommend it.
