Have stayed here for business for many weeks in the past. Last year I had to complain to the owner about the manager and was told it would be taken care of. Arrived for our stay and the manager was and still is the same. She is noisy and told me that on a corporate rate the rooms are not cleaned every day. I had to ask for soap, towels, etc. she isn't friendly at all. When I finish my work day I just want to go to my room without any hassles I just need to relax without being by the manager.

Went down to the Best Western and their corporate rate is actually $10 less a might and the have a hot tub and heated pool.

we will be taking our $5000 a year business elsewhere. Too sad because the rooms are nice it would be full if they changed the manager.

We stayed here 1 night while traveling to see the Redwoods. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It had a kitchen, livingroom and separate bedroom. They do not have breakfast but there is a restaurant right next door that was very good.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding. The room Suite 101 was very comfortable, clean and very quiet. The staff was wonderful. My daughter and son-in-law stayed in the bedroom and I was on the hide-a-bed. The kids slept great, their room had a little deck out back with some chairs, they loved it. The hide-a-bed was typical, not very comfortable and they could have had some extra pillows. The kitchenette area was disappointing, we did not realize until late at night when we brought some food back to the room that there were no utensils at all. Plastic utensils and paper plates would have been helpful.
The closest restaurants and lounges close very early, so if you want to have any night time entertainment you have to drive into Brookings (this hotel is located in the Harbor, south of Brookings). Breakfast at the Blue Harbor Cafe and Lounge next door was great.
There really isn't much of a view, but you don't have to go far to get one.

We stayed here on a Friday night and it was very relaxing. The mattress was super confortable, the layout included a separate bedroom with one sink, a small kitchenette, eating area and living room. The bathroom was comfortable with different levels of lighting and built in stool for sitting down in the shower. We never heard any distracting noises in the night with the motel at near capacity, and enjoyed the quiet overnight stay.

Room Tip: We chose the second floor that gives an extra view of the harbor, and no one overhead to make noise...

My husband and I were traveling with our adult daughter. Suite 203 was excellent lodging for us. The bedroom was spacious and the king-size bed comfortable. The pull-out sofa was fine, and again, there was sufficient room even with the bed open. Everything was very clean and reasonably new. If contemplating a stay, just realize you don't really see the water - just a glimpse in the far distance. Also light was somewhat of a problem for us who like it very dark. There were drapes and honeycomb shades in the bedroom but still some leaks. In the living room, there was a small beveled glass window in the door which let in light. However, it was a pleasant place to stay and the economical price was an added bonus. In addition it was close to Zola's Pizzeria for dinner (as well as other restaurants in the vicinity) and Maddie's for breakfast - both excellent.

We stopped at Best Western first but the only room they had was smoking (yuck) so we drove down the street a bit and found Portside Suites. Extra large spacious suites - ours had a two person bubbling tub with an ocean view. We paid the managers price of $137 and I have to say that was a bargin for all the amenities the room offered. I am posting pictures.

We loved it, was like being home, away from home. It was clean, comfortable, convenient, the people in the office were awesome & so very nice. The bed was comfortable & it was nice to have a sofa to sit on to watch TV in the evening. I LOVED the fact that it had a magnifiying mirror (and I liked the dressing table in the bedroom & not having to fight over who got to use the bathroom mirror first, or trying to put on make-up while the hubby is showering & steaming up the bathroom mirror. Will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Everything about this place was excellent..... I have nothing bad to say.
