Cute patio for dining with a pet. Seared chicken was a little rubbery, served with mashed potatoes was just average. The Cafe was local to our lodging and open until 10 PM. Helpful to hungry late arrivals to Cannon Beach.

Hello,
We thank you very much for your review. Unfortunately your comments concern a restaurant that no longer exists. It was closed over two years ago. A new restaurant opened in the same location on the June 12, 2013, with new but similar name: "Cannon Beach Cafe and Olio Cupcake Bar". The new cafe has new ownership and new management, and, of course, a new chef, Jana Lee Putulowski. The new cafe and cupcake bar is only open for lunch, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Wednesdays. The menu is fresh and wholesome and includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free choices, a large selection of sandwiches and salads, daily made cupcakes, and a variety of interesting beverages, you may view the menu at www.cannonbeachcafe.com. Our cupcakes are sold out quite often by 2 p.m. so we suggest you get there early. We would be proud to receive you during your next visit to Cannon Beach and we sincerely hope you won't be disappointed.
Warm Regards,

This is a new restaurant, it was once the Gower street bistro. When it opened, the staff was "new" and the menu was "new" - so there was a window of allowing it to grow, and we frequented it for a few months...HOWEVER, lately (Mid-summer '09) there WAS a new Chef and Manager who was very personable and seemed to be very attentive and friendly and really making an attempt to draw people in, which seemed to work...but the last time we went, he was no longer with them (we didn't ask why)...and in the end, the staff seemed very young, and inexperienced, non-attentive, and kind of shy. One guy said he used to work at Mo's (nothing to brag about), and another guy seemed to be running around frantically, as if he was the only one who knew how to do anything, or was the only one willing to....they had a great "caribbean" menu, which was highly affordable (if you know what to expect in Cannon beach) - and a great slew of mixed cocktails...but without the customer service that the place HAD with the old Chef...there is no point in going back....this place shares the Cannon Beach Hotel, which has a great reputation, but the staff seems snotty, and quite unfriendly...maybe you have to be a long time guest for them to treat you right, who knows...anyway, try another place if you trust in me...too bad! This was becoming one of our main spots to hang at!

We popped into this cafe and were pleasantly surprized. The waitstaff, although unpolished, were helpful. The food is caribbean inspired and well done. The pomegranate-blueberry cosmo was well balanced. The hummus platter is wonderful, with crisp, plentiful pita wedges and good dips. Salads were fesh and well dressed. I special ordered grilled vegetables, and was delighted with the thin but crispy slices of various vegetables, perfectly seasoned. Give this place a try!

We enjoyed a fine meal at this cozy little cafe. I can recommend the ribs and the Caribbean rice, both were very good. A short walk from the Halmark Resort and adjacent to the Surfsand. Everything was sensibly priced.
