“Good food, Great view”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Almost on the beach with a good view of Haystack rock and the surf. Upscale with good oysters and desserts. Breakfast was great as well, Dungeness crab Eggs Benedict was fantastic. My waitress for dinner was friendly and good. Breakfast service was a little off but not bad

“Lovely restaurant for a romantic dinner”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

This restaurant has never failed us! The go-to place in Cannon Beach for an excellent menu, diverse wine list, nice ambience and great views (unless it's dark, which it was this time.) Terrific service, as well.

“Great breakfast”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

Our first breakfast experience was so good we changed plans the next morning to go back. Loved the Benedict but our favorite was the HUGE and tasty cinnamon roll - one bun for our table of 4 was plenty!

“Awful razor clams and MIA service”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

First, the positives: friendly greeting by the hostess and prompt seating at the table (window) I had requested. Waitress came over, was very personable and promptly brought us our drinks. I questioned her about the quality of the razor clams as they can be awful: rubbery and tasteless. She assured me they were fantastic and she would guarantee this. So my husband and I ordered them. I knew as soon as they arrived at our table that they would be awful and they were. The waitress came over fairly quickly as she had observed my husband frowning. She asked us if they were okay to which we responded as kindly as we could that they were not. She agreed to switch the order to scampi which took awhile to receive. Meanwhile, she totally disappeared for the rest of our time, didn't apparently hear us that we wanted to look at the dessert tray, instead presented the check. We finally had her appear and told her we would like to see the dessert options. She mentioned something about it would take awhile to see the dessert tray but then another wait staff came over and showed us the options. What greatly annoyed me is sitting there waiting for sevice and also not having our dishes cleared in a timely manner. Does this restaurant not have busboys, etc? By contrast there was another server who was a rock star. He had many tables assigned to him all over this fairly large restaurant. He gave his customers awesome, attentive service. All in all a disappointing experience and we probably will not return.

“Terrific service, food and view”
Reviewed 3 November 2013 via mobile

We thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu dinner at the Wayfarer. It was just at 5 PM and our waiter was so friendly and accommodating--even gave us great tips on what to visit in the area. It was going to be a busy night for him (art show weekend) and he was gracious and friendly. The food was wonderful--we all ordered clam chowder and seafood. The Rex Sole was delicious, light and tender. The salmon was firm but not tough at all, perfectly done. It was so nice to sit and enjoy a meal together in a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Thank Liz D
