Ate here twice, for lunch and dinner. The 6 of us ordered various dishes for both meals and found the food to be very good. Crab cakes, fish and chips, hamburger, and others were all good. Some were divided between two people for an economical meal. The service was better than excellent and the view of the beach and Haystack was outstanding. Paying a little more for all this was worth it.

Food overall was not great on our recent visit to Cannon Beach. Wayfarer seemed a solid choice for seafood. Their crab cakes are cooked in a shrimp mousse, which makes them rubbery and nearly inedible—a terrible thing to do to Dungeness crab meat! (Waitress voluntarily took them off our bill). I had scallops in brown butter—they were cooked well, but the assortment of hard vegetables with the dish were weird (I like al dente—these were rock hard carrots, beets, asparagus). My dining companion had salmon with saffron rice. The dish was very salty, though the salmon was perfectly cooked. Dining room was loud with loud-talkers at the next table and screaming babies on the other side. We had requested a booth with a view in our reservation, but none were available the second we arrived; as soon as we were seated—a booth opened up but we were not able to move to it. So, some of our food was good, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

Ate there for breakfast and overall the food was good. It came out quick and portions were good - not too large but not too small either. A little pricey for what you get. Only complaint was that our daughter ordered the waffles though and it said it was topped with "whipped cream and strawberries" however it was more like watery frozen strawberry sauce and there was about a quarter of an inch of it on the plate, soaking everything. They could have been a bit more descriptive. Great view from most tables.

They were wonderful. Served a lot of families with young children and were always awesome. Food was delicious. Great service.

We were in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly waiter. We ordered the Clams, which tasted fine and also the veggies in the broth. However, we are still wondering what made the broth so bitter, that we could not eat it. We assume it might have been burnt garlic or saffron. What a pity. The white wine was a little warm? That should not happen. We also found the dish a little overpriced.
