We (group of 4 girls) were all pretty satisfied with our choice to eat here. We arrived during happy hour and walked out all paying around $20 per person. It accommodated two vegetarians and two carnivores better than we had hoped. Good luck if you're vegan though!

Great service. I would come back, especially for that french onion soup.

I called on March 22, 2014 to place a take out order. I was told that they could noT accommodate my request due to a full restaurant, wait list, and a kitchen staff "that could possibly manager " the request. I reviewed this restaurant on yelp and the manger responded with a rote response apologizing at my unhappiness. Take note if you are a restaurant it would appear to me that take out orders are less taxing on your restaurant that seating a table. If you want to start a business in Cannon Beach try doing take out type business. This was not the only business who declined my take out order that night.

Perhaps I did not explain my position very well. When our restaurant is full we have about 200 people who have waited in line to be seated and have their order taken. My first responsibility is to those guests. When I take a to go order on a busy night I bump those people down the list because my kitchen is preparing food for a group of people that are not here. This increases the wait time on the food orders for tables seated and increased the time it takes for guests to be seated. Imagine someone cutting in front of you at the checkout line, that is how I see to go orders impacting my guests. When the restaurant is not full we are happy to take to go orders. I hope this has better explained our position. Sincerely, Vicki Clarke

We were recommended to go to the Lumberyard which appears to be a bit of a Cannon Beach landmark. Ambience was nice for most of the restaurant though we were put in the 'screaming kid' section next to the 'constantly opening cold door'. Oregon Beer Flight was great (and beer selection awesome) but the meals were unapologetically fatty including the wedge salad which appeared to be soaked in dressing. Service was great. I was left with the feeling that folks with perhaps a higher tolerance for fatty food would really enjoy the meal. Cornbread served hot in a skiddle was very good.

Thank you for the review Tim. We are always happy to put dressings on the side for our guests and we try to have something for everyone on our menu. I was happy to see that the beer selection was to your satisfaction and we hope to see you again. Best Regards, Vicki Clarke

Owned by the same family that owns the Wayfarer (one of my faves), the Lumberyard used to be a lovely family friendly, affordable restaurant with outstanding service and food that was artistically created, not just made. However, our last visit was shocking. The food was awful, and the new atmosphere was that of a sports bar! Loud, obnoxious patrons and tvs, not anything like the classy place it was before. I just visited Cannon Beach last week and it looked like it was closed down. Hopefully to be resurrected into the amazing restaurant that it was.

Thank you for posting your review. The Lumberyard was originally intended as a place for Burgers and Brews. We have always had TV's and enjoy promoting both professional and college sporting events. We are very family friendly and have lots of children who are welcomed every day. Our patio is dog friendly and yes it does become boisterous. I am sorry that the atmosphere was not what you were hoping for. Our sister property, The Wayfarer, is much more elegant and quiet. I am glad that we have something for everyone in our company. Sincerely, Vicki Clarke
