“Set a standard...we will not stay anywhere else in Cannon Beach.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2010

We happened upon LE by accident and have never regretted it. We were treated to a wonderful 2nd story room with a gorgeous view. The room was perfect for a romantic evening in...a grocery store within walking distance, frozen pizza, a nice wine and lovely fireplace made the stay great. Not to say Fultano's wasn't awesome...we just wanted some privacy. The location is quiet, right on the beach and perfect.

My husband and I made the mistake of trying another location in town that promised a garden and beach access but it was not anywhere near the same. We learned our lesson and will not stay anywhere else when we come to Cannon Beach.

In December 2009, we brought my parents out here just in time for a dramatic storm to come across the ocean...it was amazing to watch Mother Nature but still feel so safe and warm inside. My parent's were so impressed and the weather couldn't have been better...I know that had nothing to do with the hotel but it still made the visit even better!! Oh, and my Dad is a total techy and had his iTouch with him and used the free WiFi with no problem at all.

In short, I would say...stay here no matter what...at least once!! Sue is a wonderful hostess and very prompt at answering e-mails if you have questions. We can't wait for our next visit to Cannon Beach...and teh Land's End Motel! (Okay, and Fultano's...!!)

Great place to stay for a romantic getaway, has a jacuzzy,we stayed in room 31 that was recently renovated and it was well worth the money, the view of the Tillamook lighthouse was very clear and the beach scene was big and clear, everything was very comfortable and clean,I would recommend this hotel to anyone, well equipped kitchenette without stove however a microwave was provided, nice LCD tv and very nice bathroom with a large warm showerhead, right on the beach, close walking distance to all the town,we had dinner at a log cabin type resturant called fireside(something can't recall)directly east on 2nd st from the Land's End Motel next intersection it was heavenly food and service.

My family and I have been staying in Cannon Beach for the last 25 or so years. We have stayed at Land's End before and was a great stay. This time, unfortunately it was not up to par based on their advertised amenities.

The room was in fact clean had a good view of the Ocean. There was however absolutely balcony to speak of on a 2nd floor room, although they do offer a communal patio.

The rooms had absolutely no closet space, and only a few places for coats to hang on. There was one smaller closet type thing in the bedroom, but was very small.

The kitchen was fairly small, and only offered a half size refrigerator. There was a lot of wasted space in the room overall.

Advertised on their website and room info was provided free wireless internet. For some reason they were unable to keep it properly working for any longer than a few hours at a time. When we called to the front desk in regards to it they mentioned they didn't know what to do and suggested we simply use the internet of another nearby hotel. While this may not be a deal maker, or killer when it comes to things when it is advertised as part of the provided services of the hotel it would be nice to be able to rely on that, especially when you have students that are trying to work on papers while staying there.

There were also a few times when the towel service only left us with 1 or 2 bath towels and a bunch of hand towels.

I was overall unimpressed with the stay, and will most likely never stay there again.

cbsue, manager at Land's End at Cannon Beach, responded to this review, 18 December 2009
The management checked the WIFI connection and it was working throughout the motel. We suspect the problem may have been with the guest's computer. We recently added a WIFI repeater in the room to avoid any further problems.
The problem with the towel service was not brought to our attention until the guest checked out. We would have happily taken care of the issue if it was brought to our attention during the guest's stay, we are on site 24 hours a day.
We have one 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen and full size refrigerator. All the rest of the suites have kitchenettes with a small refrigerator.
We only have 4 rooms that have balconies. The second floor oceanfront rooms have juliet balconies with a sliding glass door.

We have been loyal Lands End guests for about 6 years. We always stay in an ocean-front 1-bedroom unit and ALWAYS bring the dog. The LE is right on the beach, where you can observe the birds and the tides from your window, the shared ocean-front patio, or in a fabulous walk on the beach. Everytime we go, nature gives us a show we haven't seen before.

The recent remodel greatly upgraded the bathroom and I could not resist soaking in the super-deep tub twice in our 4 night stay. The LE is so quiet and yet close to everything you need in Cannon Beach: restaurants, super coffee shops, and a panoply of galleries and cute stores. (Fultanos Pizza is the best and the Cannon Beach Bakery has old-fashioned pastries that will take you back to your childhood!)

Just spent one week at Land's End in Cannon Beach. Our 5th time staying there, so obviously, we are happy with the place. They have new managers who seem to be working very hard to upgrade the units. Really have nothing to complain about. We had a tsunami warning while we were there and Sue, the manager, came to our door and gave us a pamphlet on what to do. It is two blocks from town, so you don't really need your car unless you want to explore the area outside town. The fireplace works well and they supply one presto log a day.

We stayed here for 3 nights-July 3-6. Price $225 for 2. We brought two teens adding another $10 each per night and our dog...another $15 per night. Total= $260 per night plus tax. 5 second walk and you are on the beach! Would do it again in a heartbeat! Seperate comfortable bedroom (kids slept on pull out futon in living room). Kitchenette was terrific! Owner's very nice and helpful.
Walk to everything -shops/ restaurants/ skatepark(kids)/ ice cream.
No fireworks on July 4th because haystack rock is a Puffin Sanctuary.

We would recommend this downtown oceanfront motel and staff to everyone at anytime. As far as we are concerned, the room we stayed in (Room 25) is the best room in the house ! On the second level, outside corner, it was perfect. You couldn't ask for a better oceanfront view from every window. The room has recently been renovated, jetted tub, all new furnishings and is cozy. With two juliet balconies, you get more light and view which really opens up the room. Room 25 overlooks the terrace, the beach, Ecola Creek and Chapman Point. And "Terrible Tilly", the Bird Rocks and Ecola Park are all in line of sight for beautiful photos. And the sunsets! Wow!! Right in front of you!

We felt totally welcome and safe and happy during our stay. The whole downtown was just down the block and any information we needed - we had only to ask and we got a straight answer. Haystack Rock is an easy walk down the beach and then loop back on Hemlock through cottages and flowers and shops. Fun.

This is the only pet friendly motel of the four downtown oceanfront motels. The room was fresh and airy and no clue dogs had ever been in there. The front desk provided a nice touch by supplying each dog with a blanket, towel and dog cookie!

Extra guests (beyond two) cost $10 each night if over 7 y.o. and both dogs were only $15 each, per night. From the reservation desk to the housekeeping and amenities, it was a pleasantly easy and efficient booking. So if you want a roomy, clean, welcoming motel that is very reasonably priced - in the best location downtown Cannon Beach... This is the place to book. Enjoy! We sure did!
