I've been coming to this hotel for 20+ years. I've tried different hotels in the area (when Land's End was undergoing renovations), but they just don't measure up. There aren't any "frills" here, just simple living. But you cannot beat the location, access to the beach, and amazing views from the rooms. It's been under different ownership throughout the years but they've all been equally as nice and accomodating. The only drawback I can think of is the studio rooms. They are INCREDIBLY cramped but if you're just staying for the weekend, it's do-able.

Clean, comfortable, close to downtown and the beach. We parked the car and did not use it until we checked out. We checked in and watched a sunset over the beach out front on the deck. The next morning we walked to a nice restaurant for breakfast and then went shopping on the compact downtown shopping distract. Later we walked on the beach just steps away. Our room was comfortable with a fireplace that gave a nice warm glow on the cool night. We had one of the side rooms that has a nice view of the ocean but not as good as the front rooms but they were all booked up.

Check well when you Order with Land'send. Talking to the reservation office, I was told that unit #21 is 'Oceant front'. Its is not! - It has Oceas view from the front window - A narrow view in between the buildings. They sent me email few hours before arrival and asked if I wanted to switch to unit #20 which is 'a larger unit with slightly less view of the ocean'. Well - You can see some ocean from the side in unit #20... I ended up in a great Ocean front room at the nearby Waves Motel for a similar price and was very pleased there.

Some people don’t understand the difference between oceanfront and oceanview rooms. This situation was clearly a misunderstanding of our explanation of the view. The guest was never offered an oceanfront room. We did not have any oceanfront rooms available when the original reservation was made and the guest was not told his room would be oceanfront. The guest requested an upgrade to a larger room. The difference between the rooms and the views was explained in detail. The upgrade to the suite was made at no additional charge. When the guest arrived he expressed his displeasure with the partial oceanview and he was given a full refund despite our seven day cancellation period. We also made phone calls to nearby properties and found him an oceanfront room.

Loved The Land's End Motel! Just before arriving, we received a call that a coveted ocean view suite opened up. Of course, we gladly took the room. The term "ocean view" is actually deceptive---in reality, it is "ocean front"--literally steps away from the sand and waves. Our room had an entire wall of windows overlooking the ocean and a sweet little juliette balcony. The room was comfortably appointed-a couch, dining set, and small kitchen. Nothing luxurious, but just what we needed. The bathroom was very nice and appeared that it was recently renovated. The bedroom was a bit small and dank and was close to the stairs (which turned out to be quite noisy in the morning). However, given the amazing view and location, the bedroom was not really a concern.

The location was perfect. Ocean front and one block away from the center of town. The shared deck was a perfect place to watch the sunset over the ocean with a bottle of wine.

The staff was also wonderful. They were very warm and welcoming and gave us great reccomendations on restaurants and things to do in the area. They even gave us a big blanket to take down to the beach so we could keep warm while enjoying our bonfire on the beach.

Ask for Room 26, and you cannot go wrong!

We booked Lands End based upon many reviews we read - and were very happy with our decision.
This was the first loding for us on a week long Oregon coast trip - we spent two night here.
While we didn't run into any staff - the check-inn and office service was exceptionally friendly.
One of the nice touches was the studio design of our room - the bed being seperated from the hallway and bathroom by a large wall unit, that served as the fridge/bar/supply/working area on the hallway side.
A nice touch was the fireplace and log - we enjoyed this each evening, with a glass of wine, once back from another beach walk and dinner.
Everything is close by - the beach is fantastic.
Try Bills Tavern one block away on the main drag - good food, great beer, with history.
Although it's pricy, everything is pricy in Cannon Beach during summer months - we would stay there again and recommend it.
