My husband and I stayed at the Carlton Inn for one night over the weekend. We pulled up to a very cute, quaint house that was nicely landscaped. Karen was a wonderful hostess who was very personable. Our room was adorable. There was not aTV in the room (as an insomniac I usually always have one on at night) but the wifi connection was great so we were able to watch on our ipad. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets are the best (Comfy Sheets brand). The bathroom was small but quaint with great water pressure for the shower and a supply of toiletries. We lucked out with some perfect weather so were even able to take advantage of the patio out back as well. Breakfast was wonderful, we started with some fresh yogurt, fruit and granola, then some fresh croissants, and a polenta with sauted veggies and smoked ham. The location was perfect for walking to the towns tasting rooms and restaurants. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Thanks Karen!

Lovely period house in a little out of the way town. It is however in the heart of the wine country, so if tasting is your thing you won't have far to go. Karen, the innkeeper has a charming personality very suited to her profession. She is also a great cook. Breakfast was outstanding.. The house is decorated with antiques and is very comfortable. Loved the microfiber sheets too.

My wife and I spent two lovely days in Carlton cycling with our tandem. If you like older homes with characters, you'll definitely love this B&B.

Karen is a wonderful host and serves the best breakfasts.

We highly recommend it.

My wife and I spent a delightful four day holiday at the Carlton Inn, primarily for visiting Willamette Valley wine country. A very nice B&B with super and very creative breakfasts. I will highly recommend!

We spent two nights at The Carlton Inn and enjoyed it fully. The place is wonderful decorated, clean and so cosy. You can sit on the patio with a glas of wine and your iPad ( the WiFi is fast) after a day of winetasting in the beautiful area.

Karen is the most friendly and caring host you can ever wish for - and the breakfast is a piece of heaven - everything is home cooked, so delicious - you simply have to try it!

All guest eat breakfast together at the same table and that is a brilliant idea. It is cosy, you get to know new people and exchange experiences and ideas of where to go and what to do in the area.

This is top quality in all ways.

Karen is a very sweet hostess and a heck of a cook. Breakfast was tremendous. The room was clean and nicely appointed (although I am always weirded out by using rocks/shells in the sink as a decorative tool). The only strike against the Inn is really out of her control-- Carlton just isn't much of a town after dark on a Monday.

I guess I should have done my homework a little better... I was thinking there would be more to do in town after a long day out at the wineries but there really wasn't. We ended up having to drive to McMinnville for dinner as there really wasn't anything interesting in Carlton open on Monday night. I wasn't super keen on this, as I enjoy having a few glasses of wine with dinner, especially after keeping myself in check all day on the winery visits.

One more note: We selected the Dundee Hills room, as we had read that it would be a little more isolated from the unavoidable road noise that the rooms in the front get. Maybe it helped a bit, but we still heard trucks going by all night. The other couple that stayed there were in the first floor room that is even further isolated from the road and did not report the same noise. We eventually fired up an oscillating fan because it was a little warm in the room, so that helped drown out most of the noise.

If you're using Carlton as a jumping off point for your Oregon wine trip, the Carlton Inn is a great choice, just be aware that you might have to travel a bit for food/drinks depending on what night you stay there.

Room Tip: The Dundee Hills room still had some road noise, but a fan helped. First floor guests did not repor...

We were able to take a short walk into the downtown area and visit several wine tasting rooms and restaurants then walk back with full bellies and sleep comfortably with everything we could ask for. The inn is very comfortable. The inn keeper Karen is very nice as well.
