This was a beautiful place to walk around and learn about how the fish population is being helped along in Oregon! The grounds are beautiful! We had fun feeding the Rainbow Trout, seeing the baby fish, and watching the huge prehistoric sturgeon swim in their tank! Everyone one in our group enjoyed this stop on our adventure!

This is a beautiful place to walk around even if you have no interest in fish. It's free and really beautiful on a nice and sunny day. There are beautiful trails and flowers and fountains. The gift shop has some really great merchandise, too! We spent about an hour touring it. It's worth a visit!

Love fishing in Oregon? Discover how it all begins on these pristine grounds on the Columbia River with self-guided tour (follow the fish painted on the sidewalks). Great information for all ages, whether you like to read all the posted information or watch a video. It was our first visit to a fish hatchery, so we were fascinated the entire time and could have spent the entire day at the dam and fish hatchery. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a very education and enlightening trip. We didn't get to see a lot of hatchery activities in action, so plan your visit when the teams are working. We are from Texas, so our dates weren't too flexible. Lots of friendly and helpful staff to answer questions. Great side trip after the waterfall trek on Historic Highway 30.

My wife and I have been to several fish hatcheries around the country but none as well landscaped as this one. It was fun wandering around the rearing ponds and the trout and sturgeon ponds. Got to see Herman, the 70+, 450 lb. + sturgeon. Picnic facilities are available on site.
