This hotel was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the Columbia River, right at the bridge. This is a wonderful place to stay while enjoying the Columbia River Gorge area. My husband and I stayed here 1 night of our 8 day vacation to Oregon. While sitting on the balcony, my husband commented that he could stay here the entire vacation. Beautiful....peaceful...what a view!

This hotel has a wonderful location overlooking the Columbia River, the room we had was a double queen with a sofa, cushioned chairs, micro and fridge. The room had a balcony which is a great place to have coffee and relax while watching ospreys, river traffic and mountain views. The buffet breakfast was very good and includes meats, eggs, and fresh fruits. Definitley choose the river view rooms on the third and fourth floors with balcony. The wifi was fast and a snap to connect. Some might be light sleepers as I am and be concerned about the rail line down below, not a problem the sound is minimal and far below the room.

Room Tip: Go with upper level river view rooms with a balcony

Thank you for your lovely comments and for staying with us, it is always a pleasure to hear when things go right. We are so very lucky to be in the Columbia River Gorge, the Fall colors are just starting to pop and the air is crisp and clean. We invite you back for a return visit and again thank you.

This was a perfect spot for us tenderfoot hikers, located right on the river with gorgeous views from the room and private balcony. The breakfast buffet was a cornucopia of yummy choices -- waffles, omelettes, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, dry cereal, sweet rolls, and of course juice and coffee. Very helpful staff as well. Would definitely stay here again. Only potential drawback for light sleepers is the location next to the train tracks, but I loved hearing the trains roll by at night (muted by the earplugs helpfully provided by the hotel in each room).

I headed through Cascade Locks while moving from Washington to Oregon. The hotel looks updated and very nice, and the room was very clean and spacious with a VERY comfortable bed. The odd things about the room were the layout and the appliances. The vanity was not separated from the room at all, just kind of stuck on the wall along with the VERY dated looking fridge and microwave. It's like they updated the hotel and just left the old appliances in there. But it was clean! The breakfast was very big and it was very tasty, and the breakfast person was extremely friendly and brightened up my morning. The front desk staff, on the other hand, seemed bothered to do more than the bare minimum..The thing that really impressed me was the rate. It was a king room, not on the river side, for $89. That is a raving deal if you ask me! Also, it was kind of awkwardly located when getting off of the highway.

This hotel has almost everything anyone could want, but cannot do anything about the constant train noise. The hotel sits right next to a major train route. The trains went by about every 45 minutes, way into the night, until I finally fell asleep. Earplugs are provided, but I don't like wearing them. At least the train engineer doesn't blow his horn when passing. But the beautiful river and bridge views are spectacular! I consider the price rate a little high only because of the train noise issue.

The hotel is as good as the location. Beautiful views of Columbia River Gorge, and very nice and super-spacious rooms. There are lots of trains going by, so if that bothers you, you might want to give up the river view and stay on the other side. However, they provide ear plugs if the trains will keep you up at night. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dear Guest,
If I could move that train track I would do it today. Despite the tracks on both side of the Columbia River, the view is still spectacular and I never get tired of it. Thank you for staying with us and we invite you to return and enjoy the Gorge.
