My wife and I booked a room here for one night on our three day trip through the Columbia River Gorge in October 2013. We chose this place based upon Tripadvisor reviews, and were not disappointed. The inn is located on the banks of the Columbia River about 75 feet above and 150 feet southeast of the river’s edge. Between the river and the inn, about 110 feet away are a pair of RR tracks. There was lots of train traffic while we were there, and we had a river view room, but honestly, we hardly heard the trains, and they never bothered us at all. The double insulated windows worked very well. Actually, the air conditioner made more noise than the trains, and what really bothered us were the guests, presumably kids, who felt the need to run and stomp on the floor in the room above us for hours!

The nice view out of our room was of the river and mountains to the northwest, the river to the west and southwest, with a great view of the “Bridge of the Gods” just southwest of the inn. The bridge is a neat looking old steel cantilever bridge that was constructed in the late 1920's. Although the original wooden deck has been replaced, it still sounds like an old rickety-rackity wooden decked bridge.

We stayed in Room 103, which was on the street entry floor, but it was not the bottom floor. We had a jacuzzi tub in the living room, a 42" flat screen, and a nice king bed. The shower head was crappy, and the mesh shower curtain was - uh - mesh, so naturally it leaked water all over the floor. I’m not sure what the decorators were thinking that day... We had granite counter-tops, clean carpet and fresh bedding on a comfortable king bed. There were no odors in the room. The room was clean and roomy, and the staff was helpful and friendly. We ate complimentary hot breakfast in the downstairs breakfast room. I had patty sausage, a couple of factory omelets, toast and coffee. It was actually pretty tasty.

I had mistakenly booked the room for the wrong date, and didn’t realize it until the day we arrived, which was a week after the original booked date. Fortunately, they had a room available, and the desk clerk did not charge us for the missed date, although she had every right to since we had been a no-show. If we ever return to the area, we will definitely return to the BW+ Columbia River Inn.

Thank you for the excellent historical recap of our area in the Gorge. I am pleased you had a relaxing stay with us, if I could move those tracks I would do it today! We hope you will return to the National Scenic Area and stay with us.

In the general area of Stevenson/Cascade Locks, this hotel is probably your best bet. The room was bigger than i expected and the bed was comfortable. Their hot breakfast does the job - eggs, sausage, gravy, coffee. There's also cereal and some fruit. Its right on the Columbia, so if you're luck enough to get a room with a view, i'm sure it'll be really nice. Overall a very nice experience

It's very nice, clean, perfectly maintained hotel located very close to Columbia Gorge waterfalls; very suitable to stay for tourism, hiking and sightseeing. Great place to stay and have a rest for weekend or vacation.

We stay at this hotel often, recently my wife forgot her purse and the staff called us immediately. The Suites with balcony are our favorite. Always a great clean room and a great view of the river. Best Western is our favorite hotel chain as there seems to be one in most towns and the brand is very consistent.
