“Convenient location, hotel fairly good but not great; good service”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We needed a hotel convenient to this area to attend a graduation and for family visits. We stayed twice, first time for 4 nights, then a separate one night just before leaving Oregon. The location was perfect for us, close to family, not too far from the airport, easy on and off the interstate and other roads and close to restaurants and shopping. Clackamas Town Center is very close, a short 5 minute drive, as are several restaurants, even walking distance if you don't mind busy roads. The hotel itself seems well maintained. Gives a very good impression on the exterior with nice trees and landscaping and the lobby and hallways seem modern, clean and cheerful. It does seem to be an older facility that has been nicely updated, at least in the public areas. We found the room to be small for our needs, especially the bath vanity that is suitable for one person rather than a couple. The vanity also serves as the coffee area too, so crowded and small (we moved the coffee basket, which helped). The bath fixtures also seem older and somewhat dated, but everything worked fine. We had a king room, but we thought the bed seemed a little small for king sized. The night stands were scaled down in size too. The bedding was nice and the pillows comfortable, however the mattress really wasn't what we've come to expect in nicer lodging. Thin and a bit too firm and a little saggy on the edges. But we slept well in spite of that. We did have some road noise in our first room, on the front side of the hotel. For our last night we asked for a room in a quieter area, so we were in the back on the side away from the interstate. It was very quiet, however our cooling unit kept turning off and on all night, which w
as a bit of a disturbance. First room it just ran all night, less efficient, but better for sleeping! We also thought the free wi-fi was a bit of a come-on, it seemed very slow. But you could upgrade for a fee. Hmmmm. And there was free parking, but it did get a little tight some nights after 9pm. Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel except for some things, but did wish we'd gotten more for our money, such as free breakfast and a more comfy bed, as we paid the higher summer rate, $144. We're rating the hotel with 4 stars mainly because of the location and the friendly staff who tried to be helpful most of the time. We were especially impressed with the housekeeper who did our room most days, the ladies in the bistro at breakfast and several front desk ladies in the morning. Made all the difference! Bottom line, I would recommend this more for single travelers on business rather than couples or families, unless they really like this location, as we did

Room Tip: Our first room, front side if the hotel (3rd floor, looking out over the entry area) was noisy from...

We were in Clackamas to make a presentation at the hotel across the road from the Courtyard...they could not accommodate us...so we luckily found our way to the Courtyard. Our request for early check-in (so that we could freshen up for our talk) was honoured as soon as a room was available. Staff are all most courteous and greeting guests seems to be a standard, whether you are a housekeeper or desk clerk. The hall carpets were being shampooed and even these cleaners greeted us. The courtyard was a nice little sunny oasis where we could brush up on our scripts.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the courtyard and away from the front road is a good choice.

We have family living in Clackamas and all us out-of-towners always end up at the Courtyard when we gather for holidays/events. Great price for a nice room...great service every time we go...comfortable beds, pillows, internet connection. It's always clean and the staff are very helpful. We don't use the pool, dining services or other hotel amenities - we just come for a great night's sleep at a great location for a great price - highly recommend.

Room Tip: Highest floor, furthest from the elevator are the quietest

I made my reservation , and let them know that I need know I need a early check in , they honored my request , but OMG all the grief the lady gave me, she said about ten times you know that an early is not guaranteed. Yes, yes, yes I know , and thank you for let me check in, it was pretty nice room , but was one that had those door connecting the rooms. There was a nice couch , big king size bed. It was a little loud at times, with all the kids. It was hard to see the enter , and parking was hard to find.

I had to come to clackamas for a business meeting and brought my husband along for the ride! During my meetings, my husband would have to find something to do so we asked the front dest person to see if he could check out later. They said, 130pm would be fine. We were elated since checkout was 11am!! They made our trip very enjoyable. Also Jose (Jimmy) came by our table at breakfast and was checking on us to see if our food was to our liking. Everyone seemed to go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Awesome!!

the room was ok, the bed was hard as a rock. the staff were friendly. the amenities were lackluster, they sucked. we had to ask for a refrigerator and microwave. there is no coffee in the lobby, the only thing free in the lobby was an old meely apple. no coffee no newspaper, no cookies no breakfast.
On our last day while swimming, staff came in to pick up towels and they took my towel, it has a big picture of the place I work, there was no mistaking it for a hotel towel. I'm going back to comfort inn.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

We really enjoyed the Marriot Courtyard with pleasant staff and fine accommodations. The room was upscale with a very comfortable bed that included a summer weight down comforter. They even had blankets in the closet as an option. The shower and toilet are separate, with the sink outside in its own cubicle with a very small vanity. You can request the special room rate to include breakfast, which can be one hot item such as scrambled eggs made to order, or hot cereal and hot tea or coffee. Quiet room and while it is just off the freeway with an easy access, no road noise was detectable during the night. Very comfortable place.

Room Tip: Ask for the room rate that includes breakfast if you like the limited menu, otherwise you can chose...
