My husband and I just got back from staying at this wonderful place, we stayed two nights and we had an amazing time. It was so romantic and peaceful, and the house just made you want to live there with all the charm it has. It is just down the road from a quiet, but big sandy beach. We relaxed and watched movies when we weren't out exploring. The breakfast was awesome too:] I would definitely want to stay longer and I'm sure we will be back:]

If you've ever dreamed of waking up in a comfy, cozy canopy bed in a sweet romantic room ...
If you'd feel pampered having breakfast delivered to your door served on floral bone china dishes ...
If you'd love to luxuriate in a scented bubbly whirlpool tub in a bathroom built of shipwrecked timbers ...

... then the Sandlake Country Inn is the perfect place for you.

This delightful, peaceful inn deserves all its accolades. Pastoral but within driving distance of Pacific City and close to verdant countryside, scenic estuaries and Oregon's unending sandy beaches, it offers a timeless refuge from reality. The atmosphere is serene, the historic house feels like a home away from home, and the innkeepers, Diane and Ron, have mastered the ideal blend of welcoming hospitality and guest privacy. Their attention to detail and the scrumptious, inventive breakfasts prepared with homemade ingredients aren't the only reasons you'll never want to leave. Diane and Ron are special people, and the magic they've created at Sandlake will make you feel as if you belong there.

I booked the Sandlake Country Inn as a birthday present to myself and as a respite from typical hotels/motels during a 2-week road trip. This was my first stay at a B&B and was worth every penny! The Timbers Suite was wonderful. Cozy (in feel, not space) and slightly masculine with a nautical theme. Diane greeted us at the door, showed us around and explained the history of the house. A binder with information and driving directions to local attractions was in the room and Diane personally gave us directions to our chosen dinner destination. When making the reservation, I had stated it was my birthday, and there was a note and cupcakes waiting in our room! Wine glasses and corkscrew were also provided and even though we had our own wine, they provide several varieties for purchase. An extensive movie collection is also available and we made use of that. The private entrance to our room was useful, as we could park near-by. Sadly, we didn't see any wildlife in the yard while there. The inn is within short driving distance to many coastal destinations and made for a lovely weekend. Finally, they are very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Thank you for a great weekend!

Where to start with such joys and tribulations we had on our 4 days at this wonderful Inn? the welcome was lovely, the commons area is so cozy, warm and inviting, the book collection excellent, the CD collection right up my street and then our room, The Rose Garden Room! It was simply delightful, tasteful, elegant and amazingly comfortable. The bathrobes, the cozy socks, the decadent bath bubbles, soap and the super-drying towels.
Then came tea in the morning, breakfast at 9:30 at our door such a treat and such thoughtful and tasty food on offer - each dish made respecting diet and tastes - to start us on our day exploring the area. We loved this place and will be back. Diane and Ron are amazing and their B&B a reflection of them. If you want time to rekindle, renew, refresh, or just have a loving time with your mate, this is a place not to be missed. N&J

Many grace the halls and suites of Inns all across the country and the world but few get the opportunity to go behind the sliding doors of kitchens or into the rooms of checked out patrons. Yours truly did and it was an enlightening experience. Dubbed the Innkeeper's seminar, it was more like the Innkeeper's trench. My handlers, DIane and Ron didn't shower me with paperwork describing the nuts and bolts of bed and breakfast operations and management. They didn't have schematics offering ways to check guests in or coordinate and execute breakfast and dinner. No. It was more like this. Diane, "Now Evan, go turn over that room with Ron. And so I obeyed like young Danielson in the Karate Kid washing and waxing all those cars...Why you ask would I pay to put myself through such a program? Because anyone who thinks owning and operating an Inn or Bed and Breakfast is gloriously magical needs to come back to mother Earth. Oh yeah, it's wonderful to meet and greet all the local and far off travelers who have interesting stories to share but making their experience memorable isn't accomplished by a magic wand or fairy dust. It's done by paying attention to details, by thoughtfully preparing meals, by working in unison with that special someone who is not only your life partner but the other half of the business. Its the front of the house meeting the back of the house and making it all seemlessly flow. It's knowing you can't just get up and walk out when your guests decide to vacate for the day. In fact, that's when your day truly begins. Changing sheets, preppping menus, cleaning bathrooms, replacing items, checking email, checking reservations, keeping up with advertising, maintaining the property and on top of that, dealing with some Jersey guy who thinks he wants to dive into your swimming pool. Bottom line up front. If you want to walk away with the grit and reality of running a B and B, then ring ring Diane and Ron. If you don't think you want or need an experience like the one I just mentioned, then dream away. As Ron so eloquently put it, "I don't get why you wouldn't spend a grand to see what it's like. The people who don't have no clue." Yes folks. Reality sometimes does bite. But Fantasy takes heaping chunks. Save your flesh by considering an innkeeper's course with Diane and Ron. Enough said.

We recently stayed here (my sisters and I) for a family reunion and had the Startlight Suite with fireplace and jacuzzi. It was calm, serene, lovely. Beautiful breakfast awaited us in wicker basket which we took upstairs to our private deck overlooking garden. Saw a deer while breakfasting, ate great food including bavarian cream with fresh berries and had lovely flowers surrounding us. Very welcoming reception by Diane. She told us about the history of the inn and the usage of an old ship's remains. We all slept very comfortably. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a little piece and quiet and not in a mad scene of tourists!

My wife and I recently spent a most lovely night and day at the Sandlake Country Inn. The Inn is located in a rural area of Tillamook county Oregon, approximately 11 miles from the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory and approximately 10 miles from the Air Museum. Our hosts, Ron and Diane were most gracious, cordial and warm. In addition they were excellent historians of the area and the Inn. We stayed in the Starlight Suite, a most spacious and warm suite, complete with a clawfoot tub with shower and a large juccuzi, a large dinning room with a refrigerator and microwave. The suite also included a moderate sized bedroom complete with a two way fireplace, medium sized TV, a queen sized bed and reading lights. Adjacent to the bedroom was a sitting room complete with a sofa,TV and chairs. The breakfast was filling and delicious and was brought to our room. Other ammenities include DVD's,a piano and a downstairs sitting area. The grounds were well kept, clean and included an outdoor hammock and areas suited for short walks. Nearby and down the road approximately 1-2 miles were the sand dunes with multiple camping and day activity areas. We would recommend this Inn to anyone who is planning a get-away for any length of time to the Oregon coast.
