“Elegant historic home”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

The historic house is on a quiet, tree-lined street. The interior woodwork is reminiscent of a long gone era. The hosts were warm and gracious. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast, featuring fresh Oregon berries, was delicious.

Our first glimpse of the Coos Bay Manor made us look at each other hoping we had not made a bad decision for our stay in Coos Bay. The front yard looked neglected....dead plants, leaves and pine needles all over the stairs and walkway, peeling paint. However, it is clear that more time has been spent inside. The Colonial room was very comfortable with a sitting area for reading or TV watching. The bathroom is small but works well, with the toilet off to the side behind a wall and open shelving between the shower and sink for storing your toiletry items. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and delicious. While the owners want to accommodate to diet needs and are quite well meaning, it is clear they don't truly understand what the terms they present as options truly mean. Looking around the dining room it seemed that everyone was served the same thing. If you have significant dietary issues, it would be important to be very specific about your needs and what would work for you.

The location is quite good. In an pleasant neighborhood overall, it was a good walk to downtown and the waterfront--long enough for some exercise, not so far as to be too tiring. We lucked out in that the farmer's market was open the day we were there.

With a little more care on the outside and a little more knowledge about how to modify a meal for different dietary options, this place would be truly outstanding. It has a lot of potential.

Room Tip: I agree with a previous reviewer that it is important to check the type of bathroom options for what...

We had a 3 night stay at Coos Bay Manor and loved it. It is a beautiful, roomy historic home that retains the grandeur of yesteryear. We enjoyed our time in our room, at breakfast, relaxing in the living areas, and interacting with the owners. I highly recommend it and after looking again at the others, I am certain we made the right choice. We loved the special touches - my wife loved the coffee/tea service outside our door at 7:00am, I enjoyed the daily WSJ. The breakfast was wonderful and each day was a different and delicious offering. Our host were very helpful in planning our days and meals out. We will stay here when we next return.

Room Tip: All rooms do not have the same bath tub / shower set up so be sure and select in accordance with you...

Very nice! It was our first B&B stay and they made us very comfortable and relaxed. Beautiful old home with a lot of history. Everything was ready in anticipation of our needs. These folks know how to treat their guest. Breakfast was fit for a King and his Queen. Great selection.

Room Tip: We opted for a king bed with a smaller bath. There was no pool but I can't undo that answer. T...

My husband and I booked at the last minute and so enjoyed our 1 night stay.
Walked to the waterfront and enjoyed a nice dinner.
Woke up to early coffee and had a great breakfast later when we were ready.

My wife & I just stayed at the Coos Bay Manor for three days & two nights for our 18 anniversary on a quick trip back to the Southern Oregon Coast. We had heard a recommendation for another B & B but ended up choosing Coos Bay Manor, what a great choice! David & Madge Osborn purchased the house in 2011 and are doing an excellent job of creating a great place to stay, so any reviews before 2011 are from the old proprietor and as far as getting up to speed they are there! If you like a B & B to be in a unique property, have a great breakfast and early coffee or tea waiting outside your door and feel like you are family while staying, this is your place. The rates are more than reasonable and the location is great for enjoying the "Bay Area's" attractions! Treat yourself to a great stay in Coos Bay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Baron's Room which was great for two, they let us tour the others and they look...

Madge was welcoming, friendly, and gladly accomodated our dietary needs. The Manor is a lovely old home with gorgeous hardwood floors on the main floor. Our room was spacious, had its own small bathroom and the king bed was very comfortable. Madge brought coffee to our room early in the morning and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast both mornings our our stay. We highly recommend the Coos Bay Manor fo a stay in the Coos Bay / North Bend area.
