“Old, Moldy, Musty, Rusty”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

We were sadly disappointed in the Myrtle Lane Motel. It is in very bad need of updating. The bathroom was moldy, rusty, and small; cracked old tile and linoleum from the 70's, shower only, no tub. The bed was a hard as a rock and squeaky. The carpet was old and stained, they have no new ammenties in the room. It was a cheap, old room. On the good side, it is in a fairly quiet area, not far from Bandon or Coos Bay; the owner/manager was very nice; it was clean, just smelled old and musty. It did not smell heavily of toxic cleaners. It was cheap at $65 for a two bed room, which is one of the cheapest you will find in the area. There is a garden nursery right next door which set off all my husbands allergies. It just really needs to be updated and new more comfortable beds.

Room Tip: Rooms on the rightside wing might be newer or better.

An older property that has been well maintained. The manager/owner is very personable. Reasonably priced and quiet. Always enjoy my stay here. Usually my visit coincides with the local theater in Coquille which one must see. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.

Room Tip: Whichever room the Manager/owner recommends

It's been two years since we last stayed, but the Myrtle Lane Motel is as solid as ever. Here's what I said last time, and it still stands: We like to stay at small, non-chain motels and this place fit the bill. It was older, but well kept and great service. It seemed really busy, and we were not traveling at a peak time so maybe it's a well kept secret?? We have stayed a few different places in Coos Bay and not been impressed, this will now be our go-to when in the area. All amenities were there, but basic; but it all worked just fine. The price was good for what we got... For 2012, I'd add that the owner is extra friendly and super helpful, you feel safe there, and it's a great value. We stayed in a two-queen room with four adults and a ton of motorcycle traveling gear. There was not much room to spare, but it all fit!

The Myrtle Lane Motel is quiet, very clean, well-lit, and well-priced. It has a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot, as well as adequate plug ins for a laptop. The motel is actually cleaner than I remember the tourist courts back in the 1950's being! The owner is helpful and well informed about the sights around. He grew up in a town just up the road--Myrtle Point. For another plus, there's a very good place to eat next door.
Considering that I was traveling in the middle of the week and off season, the motel was remarkably busy--a tribute to its popularity.

The title pretty much sums it up. We spend two nights and Buster, the owner, is one of the nicest people we met on our trip, he was very knowledgeable about the area & activities. The motel is older but very clean, well maintained and is comfortable. We drove to Bandon to visit with family & back with nary a delay. Be sure to have breakfast at Frazier's Bakery and visit some of the shops, you will enjoy it all. There is also a good laundromat in town for those in need.

We have stayed several times at the Myrtle Lane Motel when attending the community's Sawdust Theater. It is an old-time motel (the owner told me it is the only business surviving from when the street in front of the motel was the main route through town) but is really nicely maintained, impeccably clean, and a fine place to stay. On a summer weekend in 2011, the rate for my wife and I was $60. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. If we needed lodging any place near Coquille, we'd go back in a heartbeat.
