We spent the previous night in Pacific City and several of their restaurants were closed on Tuesdays so we drove to Depoe Bay. Sea Hag was just ok food, I was still looking for the good fresh foods I had hoped to find in Oregon but this was like any other diner type food anywhere.

We ate here and were very pleased. Excellent service! We had chowder, seafood kabobs and scallops. Scallops were breaded, unfortunately, otherwise OK. Good salads, too.

Had a wonderful meal as always at The Sea Hag! Crab Louie and fish and chips, it is usually our first stop of the visit to the beach!

We read mixed reviews of this restaurant and felt lucky. And we had good luck when we were seated right away on a crowded Friday evening. We held to the plan to try the buffet. The entertainment began as the keyboardist played a calliope-style jig or reel while the gal behind the bar turned the rows of bottles into a marimba/xylophone and the crowd loudly loved it.

But our luck faded when we went to the "other side" for the buffet. We first chose from the fresh but rather limited salad fixings. The later entree choices were mainly heavily breaded, poorly labeled, and soggy seafood.

After convincing our waitperson we wanted no more from the buffet, she presented a hefty check for what wouldn't have passed muster at a community potluck.
