My wife and I stayed there this summer for 3 days on our honeymoon trip in the Pacific Northwest. We stayed in "the captain quarters" and it was definitely a great experience. Everything is small. But it is a nice and cosy small. It is expensive so we thought it could be bigger at first but the place is so nice that it doesn't feel small after 5 minutes already. Amazing view, great furnishings, very clean, and the BEST bed we'we ever slept in!
The breakfast buffet is in the european style with nice croissants and pastries. Since we are from Europe we thought that it was indeed really good but nothing REALLY extraordinary.
The staff was nice and useful for restaurants.
The only downpoint: There are no extras, small surprises or anything, and for the price you pay you could hope for a little more generosity from the staff. We mentioned that we were on honeymoon but did not get anything besides "congratulations!". We got 2 cookies everyday, but that's 2 and no more, and there are 2 bottles of wine (red and white) nicely set in the room that you can drink... and pay ($20 each). What I mean, is that for a place that is already pricey, I would prefer to pay 20$ more and have a free bottle of wine in my room as a welcome gift. And on our last day they set an envelope by the bed for tipping the cleaning staff. We found that a little "pushy".
But we still highly recommend the place. It is very special.

A fantastic getaway - the most romantic place we've ever stayed. Location is fantastic, and the rooms are top notch. While it is pricey, I have to say that it was worth every penny. This isnt you're average run of the mill hotel - if you're looking for a quick place to lay your head, this probably isnt it...it's a true experience to be savored. If we're ever fortunate enough to return to this part of the country for a vacations, we look forward to staying at the Channel House as a special treat.

We stayed at this hotel in the summer of '06. So we are a little late writing....
We drove up highway #1 from S.F (leaving at 5 a.m) in aweful weather and immediately relaxed from the moment we walked into the small but cozy lobby. We stayed in the #12 Suite Salt Air room. It is right next to the ktichen/breakfast area but we did not hear a thing and we slept somewhat late. This room is excellent and although it is on the ground floor, do not worry about it since it sits right on the edge of the cliff and no one walks around the grounds, due to the shape of and proximity of the hotel.

The hot tub was relaxing and well kept. In all the hotel was spotless and is now one of our favortie hotels of all time! It was clean, quiet, and total quality in all aspects.

Since we were tired and wanted to enjoy the room we were given great tips about nearby restaurants with various take out from the friendly staff at the front desk. We opted for Tidal Raves, which was just up the road, and picked up an incredible seafood meal complete with side salads and bread just as you would expect if sitting in the dining room, they even threw in nice quality cutlery and plates so we didn't have to eat out of containers!

If you and a loved one are looking for the ultimate romantic suite for a get away then I can't imagine you will find anything better!

Channel house is an upscale B&B. The location is great-right on the by mouth to Depoe Bay Harbor. The rooms are very nice with great views and balconies-some have kitchens. It is located right on the ocean and in rough weather you can hear the breakers hitting the rocks below you.

We stayed two perfect nights in The Channel House. The Admiral's Suite is utterly perfect; a gorgeous fireplace, a hot tub looking out over the Pacific, falling asleep with the sound of the surf and the sight of the ocean, and any other amenities you could ask for. Depoe Bay is a small town, and if you are looking for a place to enjoy pure relaxation away from lots of hussle and bussle, The Channel Inn is the place for you. I can't recommend it highly enough.
