“Up a residential street, discreet entrance, great park”

Not the easiest to find (use your gps or a map) but gorgeous to the max. Go in May if you can, the rhodies are popping. City view is great, gardens are beautiful and walking path. Small parking lot. Area adjacent has picnic/wedding/reunion areas with big fireplaces and tables (rent). If in Eugene it is worth the trip, its really nice, if tucked away.

This park is one of the reasons we love Eugene (and Oregon, for that matter). Such a serene and comfortable place and so alive on warm days. Plus, a fantastic place to go on Mother's Day when all the rhodies are in bloom. If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of a beautiful Ragdoll-looking kitty who would love to play catch with you and help you locate your ball amongst the flowers. Don't forget the camera! Lots of portrait opportunities.

Lovely setting in the hills of Eugene; however, the park could use some attention. The flowers are beautiful, but a bit overgrown with weeds. Can't beat the beautiful rhodies in all their glory during the spring flowering season.

We enjoyed a stroll through the beautiful Rhododendron Gardens followed by a fitness walk on one of the park trails and a picnic lunch. Most trails seem to be in wooded areas so it would be a good place to walk even on warm days.

A walk in the forest. Smell the rhodies in the large garden, picnic in the meadow, feel nature all around.
I love Hendrick's Park. 45 plus acres of natural, groomed forest.
