Despite some positive reviews regarding going here with children, I have to weigh in with a very negative review on that score. Last week my husband and I, our children and grandchildren (4 of them and 6 adults) had lunch here. We were assured children could be easily accommodated; despite the lack of a children's menu they offered several things they could prepare. What they didn't say was that we would wait . . . and wait . . . and wait. Our wait was well over an hour, and during that time the restaurant was not busy, and the genial owner, with whom I chatted and asked about the length of the wait, simply stood behind the bar taking occasional drinks orders; not once did he come over and address the length of time we sat without food, though we were only 10 feet away and in full view. Fortunately all the kids were well behaved during that inexcusable length of time. The food was ok, not great, iced tea was tepid and without ice. There was no apology nor any warning before hand that the simple preparation of mac and cheese would be over an hour-long process. Our server was friendly but failed to bring my son-in-law's soup which he asked to have before his sandwich; I had to remind her, and when she finally brought it, to her credit, she said there would be no charge for it. My husband and I have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but we will not come back after this experience. This was on a Thursday afternoon, not a high-volume weekend. The owner should be attuned to what his customers are experiencing. I like to support small, locally owned establishments, but this is one we will avoid next time.
