This properly is several miles out of town on a broad and beautiful beach. Our room was top floor with a great view and full kitchen. There is a restaurant and bar on the property. Our balcony view was so great we ate in. We will definitely come back. The small downside is the water and in room coffee are terrible. The room and kitchen are remodeled and nice, but the kitchen is a little lacking on cooking tools.

Hi my name is Kathy and we just love going down to Driftwood Shores Resort. They make you feel like you're right at home. We call it our home away from home and the beaches are beautiful. The visibility from every room is just spectacular, it's so relaxing, so enjoying and there's good food at the restaurant. Our Family highly and absolutely recommends it to anybody that needs a getaway... to get some R&R.
The exterior has that cozy beach worn look. On the inside it is beautiful, updated, and absolutely gorgeous.
We love it there

Driftwood Shores is the only establishment in Florence that has an ocean view. We went here twice for breakfast meeting friends. The view from the dining room across the beach to the ocean is stunning and worth going just for that experience.Food was fine, service good with friendly and smiling serving staff. The overall dining area looks fine but for the carpet near where we were sitting. It really was gross and looked very dirty and sticky. It is the main walking area for the staff going to the kitchen I think and we were right next to it. It really put me off my food. The room overall looks clean and fairly newly painted, but they seem to have not done the floor which is a big mistake.
We have gone to Driftwood Shores to eat intermittently for 10 years and I still do not understand why when they built a decking outside that they did not close it in with a glass windbreak. It would be a great place to sit in the sun, most of the year, but be protected from the wind that does blow on Haceta beach. We, personally, would love to be able to do that. Come on Driftwood Shores make a lovely area outside to sit and hear and smell the Pacific Ocean and please get new flooring!

Clean, quiet, private and comfortable with fresh sea breeze at ones bed.....does it get better than this?
The pool and hot tub facilities are superior.
Our room with a comfortable quality bed, was modestly yet efficiently appointed. Bathroom clean and perfectly functional.
This wonderful lodge resort off the beaten path, sets pretty much alone and is a few minutes from town. Exactly what we prefer. Those that want more connections with city would perhaps be better served in town.
Would be great for convention.
Will be back whenever in the area.

Driving up the Coast headed for Newport Oregon when we came to the town of Florence. We were tired of being in the car all day and it was our 19 year Anniversary, so we decided to find a place to stay in Florence. We stopped at a gas station and we asked a gentleman if he knew of any Hotels with Ocean vies close by.He told us about Driftwood Shores so we drove down this road and turned right with the Hotel in front of us and A beautiful long beach just right outside, with easy access. We stayed in a King Sweet and we walked right out of our sliding glass door to a short and I mean short walk to the beach. It was a beautiful beach to walk on the sand was firm and there were lotts of shells and sand dollars there. We are now going to make Driftwood Shores our every year Anniversary Getaway. Loved it and will return. Also the food in the restaurant was very good and worth the price.

Room Tip: The King bed in our room was so compfy we did not want to get out of bed the next morning.

We have stayed at the Driftwood Shores many times. I heard they had remodeled some of the rooms. I was sadly disappointed at what had been done. The kitchen was all new, but the bar that you worked on while you were preparing dinner was removed. That was one of the best features in the room since you could no longer look out to the ocean while working. The rest of the room was the same with the old furnishings as well as a lot of wasted space. Also, beware of their pricing; some may pay a lot less than the price you receive for the same room. We were there with relatives and they did lower our rate after complaining. HOWEVER, their view is the greatest, they are extremely clean and their restaurant ( although a little pricey ) is fabulous.

First the good stuff: Fantastic View. Each room has a balcony which is nice. The place was "average" in our view because the rooms are somewhat dated, and the design seems poor. For example the closet by the door is a joke as only half of it can be used, a big wooden box covers most of it. The oven cannot be opened unless you open the refrigerator door and some drawers were partially blocked. There is no fireplace and the heater is a square vent up on the wall which makes noise. It just seemed to be below par as far as what we expected. Our room was a King with full kitchen on the 3rd floor. The elevator is very slow and there is no free coffee in the lobby. However, there is coffee you can make in your room. To get ice you have to go to the lobby or else make your own. The rates seem too high in our view. Ocean access is adequate but not as easy as I thought. My feet got soaked going down to the ocean. But once there we had the place to ourselves. I can see pros and cons in this town. The best place to go in town is Fred Meyers as they have everything you need at a good price. It even has a deli as it is a "super-store" (it's big). Go there to get what you need. Avoid the small shops as everything is way over-priced. I got a very small container of fudge at BJ's and it was 5 bucks. Eat at McDonalds or Taco Bell or KFC or even Pizza Hut and save your money. Old Town is neat but again the stuff in the shops is higher than a camels back. Good coffee though! I hope this helps! By the way, the drive between Florence and Newport is very beautiful, the best drive on the Oregon Coast. I think the reason is the view is somewhat elevated and you can see many great ocean vistas. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Go for the 4th (top) floor for best views. Select ground floor if you have kids. You can walk out on...
