“Can't beat the view here! Great hospitality!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

This was our second time staying at the Driftwood Shores. We were on the third floor with an incredible ocean view, though there is no bad room at this hotel since they all face the ocean. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room had a small full kitchen and basic dishes and utensils with a coffee maker and coffee. Our bed was firm but comfortable. We left our sliding door open at night to let the ocean breeze in (no A/C in rooms). We were not in one of the renovated rooms, but found ours to be very pleasant and comfortable, and we didn't really see a need for our room to be renovated. The attached restaurant was great for breakfasts in the morning. We did not have cell reception, though we did have Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean. Elevator to upper floors is a bit slow, so we always took the stairs,

All rooms have great views. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony when not walking on the beach. This hotel is right on the beach....... While we did not have a room with a kitchen they do have them. I rather eat out since we are on vacation so we skip such rooms but others love the kitchens. The place was very quiet and peaceful...just the sound of the waves on the beach to lull you to sleep at night.

Room Tip: Four floor is great...but all rooms are. P.S. you can have pets...many there bring their dogs.

Hello from the Driftwood Shores. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking the time to write those comments on Trip Advisor. I do need to clarify one point that you mentioned. The hotel is not pet friendly but the beach is. I know how much fun it is to see the activity on the beach on a wonderful day , which often include the family dog.
Again, thank you for taking the time to tell your friends about the Driftwood Shores and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Overall we were pleased with this place. Our only disappointment was that we purchased the Romantic Getaway for Two which was to include Driftwood Shores’ champagne. We did not expect to get J. Roget. That must be their house champagne, but we found it misleading because Oregon does make champagne, and we thought that was what it was going to be. The access to the beach was great, and the restaurant-lounge on the property was convenient. We would stay again, but wouldn’t purchase the package.

My husband and I spent our 3 year anniversary here. We were going to stay for 2 nights but had to leave a day early. The staff was very kind and caring. Gave us extra time to. Check out and made sure we were taken care of. The room itself was exactly what we were expecting and was very clean. The view was great and the only down side was the fish smell outside which they can't do anything about. The only down side is the rude people who stayed above us the floor was so thin we could hear them walk around. Which lasted almost all night so if we stay here again I would rather stay on the very top floor.

We took advantage of a Golf Package special and WHAT fun!! ALL rooms overlooks the ocean and the beach is just steps away! There is an excellent Aquatics Center - huge jacuzzi and wonderful play area for children! The restaurant offers the same wonderful views of the ocean and the BEST clam chowder!! Golfing at nearby Sandpines was a treat as well. The photography of the southern Oregon coast (Bandon area about an hour away) is spectacular. Already planning my next trip!! Oh, did I mention the price? $109/night for room! Golf package $232/person for two days! (includes cart) Next time with grandchildren, I would get two attached rooms, one with a kitchen!

Can't say enough good about this beautiful hotel and location. The staff, especially April went out of their way to do whatever they could for us. When we had trouble hooking our computer to the television, April was in our room in 2 minutes to help. What a fantastic way to spend our Memorial
weekend relaxing. Thanks, April for taking such good care of us........

I can't decide if I would stay here again or not. For what you get it's definitely overpriced. We paid $139 for one queen bed then had to get a roll-away bed for our kids (one slept on the recliner). We didn't get any sleep because the floors were so loud and creaky and the people above us were up walking around until past 2 a.m. I realize that those people's sleeping habits are not the hotel's fault. Our room was so hot we had to leave the slider door open but then there were people outside laughing and talking until 3 a.m. I was at the point of laughing because I just couldn't believe how no one was sleeping at this place! It finally quieted down until about 7 a.m. when people were packing up to leave. Creaking, slamming, suitcases rolling, stomping, talking, doors opening and closing, people going up and down the stairs. It was so unbelievably loud!!! I just gave up trying to get any sleep. Everything looks and feels outdated (except for the appliances in our kitchen). Now the good: The view was amazing and the pool was awesome! The kids absolutely loved swimming there so we spent most of our time doing that. If the rooms were cheaper and I knew I could get some sleep I might stay there again just for the pool. To make up for our disappointment they didn't charge for the roll-away and they took $15 off. It wasn't much but I guess it was something.
