“VIEWS!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

My husband and I were coming through on our moving trip our west and we decided to treat ourselves to a hotel with a view! #1 the view from our room was BEAUTIFUL!!! unobstructed view of the sunset over the pacific with great large patio door! The room itself is on the small side but for only 2 of us I thought it was totally fine. There isn't A/C which was a bit of a bummer for late June but the breeze from the ocean worked for us! And no need to worry about cleaning up after the beach, the water pressure in that shower will knock any bit of sand you're carrying off (which I love). The Wifi is free but dont count on it working for most of the time (at least not in our room). It kept dropping on us every couple of minutes or so and it had weak signal to begin with. The parking lot was well lit so parking our moving truck there was not a concern for us!

They had easy beach access and the beach wasn't too busy. The pool was a great temperature and great for swimming laps. The hot tub was HUGE! They also had a wading pool and a little splash pad area for the kids. And I LOVE that not only were the pool and tub open later than most hotels, they were "adult only" after 10 PM!! They also have a restaurant on site which is nice considering this locale is a couple of miles outside of town. We didn't try it ourselves but nice to know it was there.

Overall, I thought this place was GREAT and I loved the more remote location and the view. Considering I only paid $12 more for this spot than I did for a Chain hotel off the highway with a truck yard view the day before, I though this was an AWESOME DEAL!

The room was a lot more run-down than I expected from a "resort and conference center." Pics on their website make this look very upscale- not so! There was no A/C in the room, which could get uncomfortable later in the year. The view was nice. Though beachfront, there is quite a distance from the hotel to the ocean. Bring your own hair conditioner.

It was a beautiful wedding on Saturday morning. We had been in Oregon since that Tuesday and it rained every day but the sun came out about one hour before the wedding began. It made for a great experience. Many of the inn's guest watched the wedding from their balconies. The reception was in their hall above Surfside restaurant, very nice. We had stayed in their three bedroom, two bath suite on the ground level with a full living room, fireplace, kitchen, dinning area and full balcony. The ocean and Oregon coast was fantastic, the suite was a little older then I expected but clean, it would have been nice to be able to access the beach from our balcony without trying to climb over the railing. You had to leave through the front door and go to an access point? The swimming pool & spa were nice but full of children. I did not get a chance to see their gym and there was several areas where construction was being done. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the suites are very spacious.

Room Tip: Suites are large but I am not sure about being the best value, I will try a smaller room next time.

This was our second time staying at the Driftwood Shores. We were on the third floor with an incredible ocean view, though there is no bad room at this hotel since they all face the ocean. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room had a small full kitchen and basic dishes and utensils with a coffee maker and coffee. Our bed was firm but comfortable. We left our sliding door open at night to let the ocean breeze in (no A/C in rooms). We were not in one of the renovated rooms, but found ours to be very pleasant and comfortable, and we didn't really see a need for our room to be renovated. The attached restaurant was great for breakfasts in the morning. We did not have cell reception, though we did have Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean. Elevator to upper floors is a bit slow, so we always took the stairs,

All rooms have great views. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony when not walking on the beach. This hotel is right on the beach....... While we did not have a room with a kitchen they do have them. I rather eat out since we are on vacation so we skip such rooms but others love the kitchens. The place was very quiet and peaceful...just the sound of the waves on the beach to lull you to sleep at night.

Room Tip: Four floor is great...but all rooms are. P.S. you can have pets...many there bring their dogs.

Hello from the Driftwood Shores. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking the time to write those comments on Trip Advisor. I do need to clarify one point that you mentioned. The hotel is not pet friendly but the beach is. I know how much fun it is to see the activity on the beach on a wonderful day , which often include the family dog.
Again, thank you for taking the time to tell your friends about the Driftwood Shores and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Overall we were pleased with this place. Our only disappointment was that we purchased the Romantic Getaway for Two which was to include Driftwood Shores’ champagne. We did not expect to get J. Roget. That must be their house champagne, but we found it misleading because Oregon does make champagne, and we thought that was what it was going to be. The access to the beach was great, and the restaurant-lounge on the property was convenient. We would stay again, but wouldn’t purchase the package.

My husband and I spent our 3 year anniversary here. We were going to stay for 2 nights but had to leave a day early. The staff was very kind and caring. Gave us extra time to. Check out and made sure we were taken care of. The room itself was exactly what we were expecting and was very clean. The view was great and the only down side was the fish smell outside which they can't do anything about. The only down side is the rude people who stayed above us the floor was so thin we could hear them walk around. Which lasted almost all night so if we stay here again I would rather stay on the very top floor.
