Tebo's is on the list of the restaurants we must visit while in the portland are visiting family! The halibut fish and chips are awesome and the pies are to die for! If its shortcake season you are in for a treat! The food is served cafeteria style which is fun! and the condiment bar is a unique way for you to completely customize your enitre experience! After the fish and chips with fresh fries try and save room when the waitperson comes to ask if you want ice cream on top of you're shortcake! Enjoy the nostalgia of the ambience and have fun!

I took guests from out of town to Tebo's twice; just to give it a chance. On both occasions we had hamburger you have built up for you, and some sides. The food reminded me of a bad school cafeteria. In fact I had better meals at school cafeterias decades ago. The people serving were pleasant enough but they really need to change their food preparation.

I doubt we'll ever go back and will advise those wishing to suggest it to stay away from there until things change.

Wow how sad.

My partner and I came here at long last and despite the rave comments about the $6 burger, which we both ordered (ala the bacon cheeseburger), we felt the experience was really far below the cost. In other words, value not received! We spent $24 to get two burgers as such, a soda, one order of fries and - because it is on their sign on McLoughlin - a large order of the shortcakes avec strawberries. Gulp!

But be not confused: your burger comes PLAIN (read: you have to go get all the fixings at the fixings bar). This for a $6 burger, not impressive.

Then if you want whipped cream on your shortcakes, you have to ask a Perky member of the staff for that. They take your dessert (that you carried over) to the secret station and then return it buried in said whipped cream! Overwhelming! Turned out to be a mess. Really did not like that either. Cloying sweet.

Ambiance is sad. Just depressing.
The chairs appear to be original vintage. Time for a face lift or a total body overhaul.

We will not return. This felt like a very expensive buffet that lowers one's spirits.

One of the most over rated restaurants in the area. Caters to locals who have the culinary acumen of elderly men from lower pudly south of Cornwall. Every bad comment about the food service in other reviews hit the nail on the head!!!!

Tebo's offers a cafeteria style dining experience, which some folks find off-putting, but for those of us who grew up in the mid-twentieth century it is a nostalgic experience. In fact, this restaurant has been around since then and still offers homemade, tasty food, from hamburgers made with local Oregon beef to the old stand-by pea salad. But the piece de resistance is the homemade strawberry shortcake with either whipped cream (also made there) or ice cream. To die for!
