What a difference a few years makes!
We've stayed here several times in the past, but for various reasons have not stayed here for several years. There are some differences.... and not all for the better :-(
First, the manager is a crusty old fellow. He appears to be the sole person here and to be honest, runs this like his little "kingdom".
He insists upon measuring each rig that comes in, then he will say exactly *which* spots you can stay in. We wanted the ocean view side of the park, and he said we could stay only in one particular space. Well okay... but entire park was empty -- I mean there were *no* other RVs there at all when we arrived!
During our stay, most nights had one or two other rigs come in. One night, a motorhome parked right next to us -- even though there were 79 empty spaces in the RV park! We got to talking with the people and they apologized for parking next to us in an otherwise nearly empty campground, but said the old fellow insisted they park *only* in that space, or they could leave!
There is no wi-fi. Or maybe it just wasn't working that day. Or month. Okay, nearly all RV parks have it nowadays but for us it was no big deal since we carry our own jetpac to connect to the internet.
Next, there is no longer even any TV! No TV? What?
The fellow told us that TV was just too expensive so he had them shut it off. There is *no* TV at all unless you carry your own satellite dish, which fortunately we do. But this is ridiculous to be honest -- all modern RV parks have TV!
This RV park has an attractive website which just happens to not mention the items above.
The price in May was $31 a night for water & power (30 amps). Full hookups are a few dollars more, but of course that still does not include TV.
On the good side, the showers and toilets are sparkling clean. I rather like the jigsaw puzzle pictures on display. Since we were in one of the non-sewer campsites, we used the showers and toilets. The shower/toilet room is old but has been kept up and is nicely painted. We're used to older RV parks having older amenities but as long as they are clean and well maintained, I certainly don't care.
A big plus for this place -- you know what they say in real estate: location, location, location! This RV park has a very good location. It's about 100 yards to the river, which has a small beach, and maybe 300 yards to the ocean. We could see the ocean, river and foothills from our space, but I'd call the views 'pleasant' not spectacular.
It's very quiet at this park. Although it's located next to the airport, in the five days we were here we saw two airplanes arrive and/or take off. You can hear the ocean from the whole park.
Overall, though, I have to give them just an "average". If the management was less 'imperious' it would be more pleasant. If somebody were to manage this RV park properly, it would be a delightful place to stay. But until that happens . . .
