Found it on the internet, web site looked very nice and winter rates very affordable ...what a beautiful hotel. We checked in and the front desk gentleman went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Our room was large, very clean, and everything was as advertised. The WIFI worked great, some hotels have a problem with their WIFI cnxn. Beds super comfortable, new pillow tops. TV was a very nice large flat screen. Parking was literally right outside our door. Hotel is located on the south end of Gold Beach right on Hwy 101, very easy to get in and out. If we find ourselves in Gold Beach in the future, we know exactly where we`ll be staying......right here !! Oh btw, the hot breakfast was far better than the average.

Room Tip: we had room #230, perfect location, when u park your car, you walk right into your room, no stairs h...

We stayed one night in Gold Beach while traveling the Oregon Coast. The GBR is on the south end of town with easy access in and out. We have never stopped in Gold Beach before so we were looking for a nicer place and dog friendly. This filled our desires. The front dest staff was very friendly and accomodating and the room was large and well equipped. There was a nice balcony to view the sunset. It is probably the closest facility to the ocean at about 300 feet or so, with a large front lawn and dunes. The overall condition of the facility indicates it is in constant repair from the ocean elements and is a tad dated and could stand some updating, but this is ocean environment. Without experience of other accomodations in Gold Beach, I would rate this as an average motel, not a resort. The breakfast was typical, fruit, cereal, coffee, etc. All in all, a place to stop overnight on a coastal trip if you need, but Gold Beach is not a destination in itself.

We stayed at the Gold Beach Resort for one night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked for a quiet room and they gave us a room on the 3rd floor that was very quiet. Our room was quite large and had a balcony with a nice view of the beach. Our bed was quite comfortable but our blanket was old and had holes in it. The bathroom was ok but the tiles on the floor were cracked and need to be replaced. Breakfast was fine...fairly typical items along with scrambled eggs, biscuts and gravy. They do not have a restaurant on site. Not a big deal to us though.
The rooms are priced by the level on which you stay. This is a pet friendly hotel but pets are only allowed on the lower level.
The hotel needs a little updating but overall is a pretty good place to stay.

We have never stayed in Gold Beach before so we did a little on-line research and found this hotel. The location was easy to find and we pulled in right off Highway 101. The grounds were neat and tidy. We arrived about 3:15 pm but our room was not ready and we were advised it would be a short wait. We took a walk down to the beach and when we returned our room was ready to go. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of space for the two of us. We did not use the pool facilities but did take a walk through and everything looked nice. The hotel is advertised as being on the beach but isn’t quite there. There is a bit of a walk to get to the beach although our room offered a wonderful unobstructed view. There really isn’t a lot in Gold Beach itself but the staff was able to point out some great dining choices. The included breakfast was pretty much the same as the other included breakfasts on our 10 day trip although their was hot scrambled eggs instead of hard boiled eggs. Wi-Fi worked good. Overall an OK place to stop for 24 hours but with so many other options, will probably skip Gold Beach on our next trip down the coast.

pros – easy to find, friendly staff, close to beach, nice views, pool, included breakfast
cons – close but not right on the beach, a bit pricey at $149 night (more than we paid in Cannon Beach, Lincoln City and Florence).

Room Tip: Beach is a bit back from the hotel so get a top floor room.

Gorgeous ocean views, spacious rooms, excellent pool and hot tub. The showers could be a little taller, but hey, we're talking vacations here! And it's in a great location for access to the various sights and hikes surrounding the Gold Beach area. If you have need of a decent place to stay, definitely check out the Gold Beach Resort!

Room Tip: Make sure you're on the second or top floors for the excellent ocean views :)

Stayed the weekend with hubby for a photo meet. Room was clean and the facilities have an excellent location with ocean view from all rooms. Balcony with chairs facing the ocean.
Staff is very friendly, extremely helpful and will do their best to make your stay a very pleasant one.

Room Tip: 'parking level' has no stairs if that's an issue

Two girlfriends and I shared a room at this resort to attend a photo meet of Weather Underground. Close to fifty photographers stayed on the grounds. The facilities is clean and well maintained, Breakfast was adequate and good. All rooms offer a sea view. Our room had a small balcony with 2 plastic chairs but no coffee table. There is no elevator to the second floor If you do not do stairs, request a room on ground level. The young lady working the night shift was very pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: There is no elevator to the second floor If you do not do stairs, request a room on ground level.
