Room was large and quite fine. Ask for the upper floors if you want any view of the ocean. The hotel is set back from the beach by quite a distance but they have paths down to the beach. Pleasant garden area between the building and the beach. Breakfast was standard stuff. The spa area is between the building and the beach and there is an enclosure to protect the hot tubs from the wind and cold during the offseason. This is a beautiful deck area and hearing the ocean is easy. Wi-fi was spotty in the rooms area (its own router) though I easily connected to the router up in the office. Room price was very good in April

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper floors.

My husband and I decided to extend our 1-year anniversary trip up the California coast, and go a little further to Brookings to stay overnight, since we had a terrible nights stay on our actual anniversary in Eureka, California. Everything was booked at the hotels with an ocean view, so we opted to keep driving, as I remembered the Gold Beach Inn from staying here many years ago. We took a chance and called from the road and the desk clerk set us up right away. The hotel is on the older side, but is very clean and so charming with gorgeous views right when you walk into your room. I saw pictures that other people had taken of "damage" to the door, but this appears to just be normal coastal weathering. The staff is amazing and so welcoming, and this was almost the best and most comfortable place we stayed on our trip. The breakfast was small and a true continental breakfast, but yummy, and again, everyone was working so hard to be accomodating and helpful. Kudos to the owners for maintaining this beautiful stretch of beach....this place is a diamond to be treasured. We will for sure be returning in the off season.

Room Tip: try a top floor room for better views and quieter experience

We stayed overnight here while on a road trip down the Oregon coast. Yes, the rooms were a little dated, but everything was clean and well kept. The size of the room was spacious and the view was great. We didn't go down to the spa area, but I could see that it looked like it sat right on the bluff overlooking the ocean.

We were pleased with the overall value.

Beach access right from the property. They have deck with two spa setups just off the beach with a nice wind protection enclosure with a shower.
The room was average but clean. We walked to the best restaurant in town, Spinners just down the street.

The price is way over the top, the continental breakfast is eggos and toaster french toast. The rooms definitely need to be painted and carpets cleaned. Shower leaks. We went down to the whirlpool they have off the beach beautiful view but again we had no clean towels just used ones laying in a pile. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The day this woman complained it was 65 degrees, sunny, and gorgeous. We were sold out and all of the guests were happy. She stated to the front desk that she thought the price was too high after staying for the night. She does not understand the nature of a seasonal hotel. Our rates go higher in the summer because if they do not all the hotels would go bankrupt on the coast. Our season is just 90 days, and we have not raised price for 4 years because of the economy. Our prices should be higher. Her only complaint to us was it that the shower floods. We had our handyman check out her complaint, but there was nothing wrong with the shower; they just had 4 people in the room, and they splashed some water out. She told us she was going to TripAdvisor for us to lower the price. But we just can't lower our rate or we won't be able to provide what customers expect. For nine months out of the year when the price is lower, our hotels lose money. We work hard for those nine months so we can provide a beautiful ocean view with gorgeous grounds for our valued summer guests. She mentioned none of her other complaints while she was here. Our carpets are cleaned on a regular basis along with the walls repainted. We also have a lot of spa towels available, and if for some reason we were out, just notify us and we will promptly get them down to the spas. We have two breakfast rooms and it is included in the price. We have premium bagels, cinnamon swirl French toast, blueberry waffles, hot fresh hard boiled eggs, English muffins, oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit and premium orange juice and quality coffee.

Since we had planned on cooking in on our one night stay in Gold Beach, we reserved a king room with a kitchenette. Because apparently all kitchenettes are located on the second floor, the view of the ocean was only partial (which is mentioned on their website). The room itself was old and dated, though large and comfortable. There was a door and picture window on the ocean side, as opposed to a sliding glass door with a little deck as is more common in newer places. Several people mentioned a flat screen t.v., but I don't think we had one in our room. I seem to recall that it was one of the older models.

The kitchen was at the back of the room and was pretty tiny, with no oven, a 2 burner cooktop, tiny sink, and a small under the counter type refrig. It would have been tricky to try to prepare anything other than something really simple. Bathroom, as I recall, was roomy, but did open right onto the kitchen area. The "table" in the kitchen area was a short countertop hung from the wall, with two folding chairs for seating facing the wall. We ate at the table in front of the window and sat on the two recliners instead. That was pretty nice! No desk in the room. Just the table and two recliners in front of the picture window. Also no outlets near that table, which made charging the computer a little inconvenient. Another thing I found odd was that because our room was on the ocean side of the hotel, there was no convenient way to walk to the other side of the property if one wanted to go to the front desk or to get ice. You had to walk along the driveway, at the side of the building, which did not have a sidewalk or path for pedestrians. The grounds themselves were nicely kept with a cute garden area adjoining the hot tubs which were on a huge deck. And, as others have said, there was a short sand path from there leading down to the beach.

We have stayed at two properties in Gold Beach over the past couple of years and though they were both considered oceanfront, be aware that it is quite some distance from the hotels to the beach, at least in that section of town. If anyone knows of a place in Gold Beach closer to the ocean, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you!

Room Tip: I would assume that rooms on the third and fourth floors have a better view of the ocean.
