“Hidden gem, unique rooms, friendly owners”

On a mini-road trip, we spent two nights at this charming motel. There are about 12 unique units, each decorated in a unique way and named accordingly. The units were std. size, with a small refrig and microwave, beds are on the hard side. The continental breakfast was more than anticipated: cereal, bagels, breakfast pastry, fruit juice, good coffee, snack bars, muffins, etc.--everything one could want other than bacon, eggs and hash browns. Although this motel is located on the old Hwy 99, we did not hear any road noise. The motel is about a mile from the heart of Grants Pass city center. There are many antique shops and on the outskirts of town, pretty much the stores you would find in any mid-size town. The price was good for such a lovely room--a good value. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The town of Grants Pass, in addition to many antique shops, offers murals and unique, wonderful bear...

My husband, friend and I vacation by motorcycle each year and recently discovered the Buona Sera Inn in Grants Pass on our trip to the Oregon Coast. The creative murals, lovely decor, comfortable beds, and clean, quiet rooms were a welcome break from the touristy coast. Buona Sera's gracious, informative owners recommended some of the most scenic routes, great roads and best restaurants of our trip. While it's not as fancy as many places, it was homey and peaceful and we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have sunny and convenient little kitchens, complete with goblets, cork screws and other t...

Last Tuesday on our way to the 'Avenue of Giants' we had the pleasure of staying in the Mona Lisa Room at the Buona Sera inn. The cute room was clean and homey. We slept very well after our flight and driving for four hours. It was one of the nicest places we stayed at on our trip. Who would have thought such a nice place would cost less than $100.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Tranquility room at the Buona Sera Inn last weekend. It was a very cute and comfortable place to stay. The room felt very homey and the bathroom decor was very nice. The shower was a tad small and there was no bathtub, but it was no problem. The staff was very nice and helpful, we did not have time to eat the breakfast offered.
Wonderful place to stay and will would like to stay there again if we are in the area. : )

Room Tip: Pictures avaliable on there website or call and ask, the staff is very helpful.

We stopped in Grants Pass on our way north last week. It was a total shot in the dark, but oh, what a pleasant surprise to open the door of the "Blue Moon Room" and look inside! Clearly this is an older Motel with recent remods, but instead of following the usual vinyl and beige aesthetic so often seen elsewhere, the Buona Sera owners exercised some delightful imagination. The room was small, but who cares when it has sweet details like arched doorways, cheery colors and a just right firmness bed? We spent a surprisingly quiet night (it's right on the main street), peaceful and restful night. And isn't that what a motel has as a primary mission?
The gal behind the desk was friendly and helpful, the price was good, and it's in a great, central location. Stay away from those boring right-off-the-freeway corporate monstrosities and head down to the Buona Sera. You'll be happily surprised.

Room Tip: Ask to look inside what is available. It's fun!

I generally look for family owned or quirky privately owned hotels when I travel - you tend to get better deals and friendlier service. Buona Sera Inn was no disappointment! The owners were amazing and we were there for three days, using Grants pass as a home base for several day trips. They had great recommendations for sight-seeing and gave us opinions on the activities we had planned. We needed to find a laundromat - no problem. They hooked us up! The room was homey. The maids were totally awesome. They asked us daily when they saw us what we needed - and what we didn't need. I felt like I was staying with friends. I loved this place and if I ever visit southern Oregon again (you bet your bippy I will) I'll be staying with my friends at Buona Sera again!!! Thanks for everything!

Room Tip: Their website is helpful and all their rooms are represented. I found this place last minute and lov...
