We just spent a couple of nights at the Redwood Motel and will be staying there again on our next visit. We've been looking for a clean, well kept place to stay when in Grants Pass and we've finally found it. We have family there and when visiting prefer to stay in a hotel/motel and not with family. In the last 20+ years that we've been going up there for family visits, this is the first time we have felt comfortable knowing the room was truly clean. We did not find it noisy and there were people with children all around us nor did we hear anyones TV. The bed was very comfortable and as you can tell, we enjoyed our stay. The motel is centrally located in Grants Pass so it's relatively easy to find whatever you're looking for. They offer a continentel breakfast of hard boiled eggs, pastries, fresh fruit, orange juice, tea and coffee that was very good. The people in the office were very pleasant and helpful. This isn't the Fairmont or Ritz-Carlton but Grants Pass isn't San Francisco or Maui, it's just a very nice motel in a very nice town and it's CLEAN.

My husband and I stayed at this motel on our way to San Francisco. Our plan was to drive as far as possible and find somewhere to stay . We made it to Grants Pass and after driving around, finally decided to try the Redwood Motel because it was so cheap. I was extremely apprehensive as the word "motel" only conjures up images of dirty rooms for me, however, I was blown away when we opened the door and saw the inside. Everything was incredibly clean and looked fairly new - The bathroom was immaculate as were the sheets (I'm one of those people who has to do an in-depth inspection of all sheets - although Heaven only knows what's on there I can't see).

The only snafu was that the heater wasn't working in our room - but within 2 minutes of calling the front desk, someone had already come to move us into another room and had thoughtfully turned on the heater for us so it was warm when we got inside. A+ for customer service.

We would definitely stay here again - and probably will the next time we're on our way down to California.

I stayed at the Redwood Motel the week before Christmas on business. The room I was offered was one in from the major road (3 lanes wide). I was pretty tired and looking forward to a peaceful night's sleep. The room was decent enough. I went to sleep around 9:30 pm and woke up around midnight. The room next door's (closest to the road) had their TV on pretty loud. The programs were drama. The walls were so thin I could hear clearly. The dramatic music from the television programs just kept me from going to sleep. I called the front desk at 1 in the morning requesting they have the adjoining room turn down the TV or give me a new room. They called the neighbor and while they turned it down I could still hear it. Bottom line is I could not get to sleep until the early morning hours and was pretty useless the next day. I had a fixed room rate budget so I got a cheap room. If you are getting a cheap room bring ear plugs. The noise was my only real complaint. And when I went in to the front office bleary-eyed looking for some coffee before I left...it was empty.

We stayed at the Redwood Motel on a lark after having circled through the town looking for a place to stay. It was a busy summer weekend, so when we asked at the front desk whether there were any rooms free, the only ones available were the "suites" with a kitchenette, dining area, and 2-person whirlpool tub. The clerk offered to show us the room before accepting, and we did. After negotiating the room rate (which was not the cheapest in town, but wasn't a wallet buster either), we accepted.

The room was decently appointed, though a little dated in the kitchen/dining area. The bed was quite comfortable, and the 2-person tub was just great, especially after adding our own bubble bath. Water pressure and temperature were fantastic. Cable TV reception was above average and the selection of channels was decent. A/C worked fine, and wasn't too noisy. All rooms had free wireless Internet access (which worked just fine). About the only thing we didn't like was that the pool closed at 9pm, which seemed a little early for a summer night in Oregon, when the air is 80F outside and it's not quite twilight yet.

The best part was that the hotel was kind enough to expediently ship us (at our expense, but without surcharge or markup) our pillows that we'd left behind in our room. We had them back in just a few days. Their customer service is to be applauded.
