“Gem in Grants Pass”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2013

My mother was visiting town for my son's graduation. I checked out this property and thought is would be a good fit for her. Turns out, this place was much better than my initial impression once I spent some time on the property with her. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Great amenities (Aveda shampoo to start) and wonderful decor. My mother said this was one of the most comfortable beds she has slept in at a hotel.

The location is great and you can walk to downtown from the property. A convenient sidewalk takes you under 7th St. to the Taprock Restaurant, so you can walk to dining without crossing a street. You can also walk to downtown and experience some of the other restaurants (no offense to the Taprock, but I have some other places I prefer within walking distance for dinner - but that's another review.)

The little patio area was a relaxing spot to catch up and chat with Mom. The little cocktail hour outside the lobby was such a nice touch. The staff was very friendly, attentive and they went out of their way to make my Mom's stay very pleasurable. As a bonus, our children got to swim in the pool while visiting with their grandmother. I stayed at a few other properties while relocating to this area and there are some nice places in town, but The Lodge at Riverside is definitely the gem on the Rogue River in Grants Pass. You'll love this property.

I stayed here one night in March as I was passing through Grants Pass. I am so glad that I did. It was off-season, so I paid a very reasonable price for a very comfortable room. Because it was not too busy, I was able to order an excellent breakfast, which was delivered to my room. (At busier times, you eat in the main building where the reception desk is.) I found the staff very friendly and helpful, and look forward to staying here again, preferably for a couple of nights.

This lodge-style property is fantastic. Great location right next to the river and also next to the jet boats and Taprock (great restaurant). It's really the perfect place to stay and enjoy everything Grants Pass has to offer. Why would you stay anywhere else? The rooms are pretty nice as well, great views from the balcony. Sort of like staying in a 5 star cabin. We loved the decor and exposed log/beams. The hotel offers Aveda brand toiletries which was a nice touch. We would love to come back and stay longer - with some drinks on the balcony in the evening.

Loved the view from our room. There was a bee issue though so we were not able to sit outside. The access to the pool, and parking was great. The room was perfect to what we needed for the time we were there. We loved the wine and cookies evening that came with our package. We also enjoyed the excellent service from the desk staff. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat, which we were given directions to a most excellent fare.

Room Tip: It was just the two of us, so I believe we had a half king suite, and it was perfect for our needs...

After too many hours on the road I wanted a place to stay that was better than a budget hotel but didn't break my wallet. The Lodge at Riverside was perfect. The bed was super comfortable, which is not something I can say about many hotels, surprisingly. The room was very clean and had everything I needed.

The front desk staff were polite and helpful in suggesting restaurants that were open on a Sunday night (which are very few -- what's with that?! Seriously, everything is closed!)

The continental breakfast included is what you come to expect from hotels that offer such services, so no surprises there, but it was nice to be able to grab a little nibble and coffee before hitting the road.

I will definitely return to The Lodge on future driving trips.

After a plane ride and a 5 hour drive this was a beautiful and relaxing stop. The room was on the same level as a much more expensive hotel. We had a small balcony with a pretty view of the river. Breakfast was more than the usual free hotel breakfast and the staff was very friendly and helpful with directions.

We have had nothing but a perfect stay. The staff is accommodating, professional, and very knowledgeable of grants pass indoor and outdoor activities. Jake is the perfect example of this and is the man to see to have a great experience. The rooms are great! We will be sure to come back!
