We were there for the jetboat ride at Hellgate and this hotel was very within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly including the girl working in the breakfast room. We will return to this hotel again next year and will book 5 rooms.

The hotel was fine but to have to walk your luggage upstairs when grandma is with her daughter and two-year old toddler is a challenge! For $400 for two nights I would have expected a bit more! The shower in the bathroom made noise and didn't work well! The breakfast was included and included waffles which you make yourself and you hope there aren't too many others waiting, since there are only two waffle machines. The drinks can be in cups and glasses, but I liked that you could also take a cardboard cup to take out! My daughter's two-year old is a challenge and if he hadn't been so tired he could have opened the door. The double lock is not a chain and low enough for him to open,,,Scary!! The room was nice but there wasn't a dresser, which I thought was odd. The view was nice but there wasn't a direct access to the park.

Room Tip: Downstairs if you have luggage

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am glad that you found your guest room to be nice and that you enjoyed the view. We love having the opportunity to assist guests in any way we can from helping with luggage to making a waffle for you—please just let us know. We hope that the drawers in the armoire met your needs. We look forward to seeing you in the future!

Hotel staff was great, they went above and beyond. Very helpful and friendly. The kids loved the milk and cookies served in the lobby in the evening.

Our spacious room was very clean and comfortable. The only down side was a lovely gate that was not far from our room. Someone was not very courteous with it at 1:00 in the morning and let it slam with a bang, waking us with a start. I would probably request a room away from a gate next time.

The pool was nice, great place to relax while the kids played.

Dining withing walking distance which was nice. Morning breakfast was above average.

Overall, a very nice stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from entry gates.

The lodge is right on the Rogue River and looks to be nice. We got stuck in the only room NOT on the river, called the cabin. Should be more like the storage room. It has a fence around it and your own little private weed patch, that looks out into the parking lot. The room had an old couch but you could not watch the TV from it and a desk that was smaller than my kids school desk at home. If you opened your door in the morning you got to listen to the breakfast crowd right on the other side of a wooden outdoor wall. IF this room is suppose to be special, then someone should do some work here !!!! Breakfast was less than thrilling as well !!! Power had gone out so there was nothing hot except some coffee. I got about a half cup and it ran out. The employee said that was all she had and it was left over from the day before !!

Room Tip: I problem is when the pool gets full of kids and does not close until 11 pm you might not get to bed...

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your stay. I greatly apologize that the Cottage did not meet expectations—had we not been sold out during your stay, moving you to another room would have been our first attempt in taking care of you. I hope the adjustment to your rate helped. The location and the description of the Cottage is explained to guests when making reservations and many guests find the Cottage quite lovely. I wish that the possible alternative accommodation we found for you at one of our sister properties would have been a good fit. We did experience a power outage that affected this half of Grants Pass and we were not able to prepare any hot items until the power was restored at 9:30AM that day. At that time, breakfast staff promptly prepared all hot items and fresh coffee for guests. I hope you were able to enjoy breakfast the next morning. We do hope that you will give us another try in a Deluxe River Facing Room perhaps. As you can see by other reviews, this is not a typical experience at The Lodge at Riverside.

The Lodge at Riverside appears to be a renovated older hotel property turned into a Northwest Lodge style hotel. Rooms have a great view of the Rogue River and the park across the river. Right in town within walking distance of may restaurants. Free wine and cheese in the lodge-like reception area and patio each evening and milk and cookies later for a dessert snack after dinner in a local restaurant. We ate at the Taprock Grill across the street.

Room Tip: Recommend an upstairs room. Better view and less noise from the pool.

We stayed here with our 5 year old on our way up to Portland from SF. Great view, nice pool, yummy breakfast and terrific park and playground a short pretty walk away from the property. The restaurant across the street is awesome too and you can catch a speed boat there for a ride on the Rogue. Only down side was our room did smell like cigarette smoke a little but it is a nonsmoking property.

Loved this hotel! Nice view of the river. Beautiful room! Comfortable bed! I would most definitely stay here again if I was in the area again! Very nice staff! Much better than the sister hotel the Riverside Inn!
