Large room, well appointed, comfortable bed. Handy for the interstate. There was a good selection for breakfast, a shame about the sticky patch in one corner of the breakfast roomMore

Dear Alan D:

We chose this hotel because of its affordable price. Taking a mini family vacation from Olympia, WA to Oregon. We liked the idea of having the pool, and breakfast covered in the AM. Having two small children, this definitely makes life easier. We arrived after a day of driving and visiting a close amusement park. Upon arriving, and entering, the appearance was nice. We checked in, without any issues- and the staff was friendly. We got to our room and it was clean. No issues there. Decided we would go check out the pool on our trip to go grab a few more things from the car. Before we even entered the pool, through the window we could see it was cloudy!! Once we had entered, (we can tell ppl had used it recently) the sun was hitting the pool and we could see a layer of hair and film floating on the top. Nasty!! Our little ones were upset that we couldn't swim in the pool that day. Not taking a chance. We had dinner, and decided to settle in a little early. Starting about 9pm-10pm, you could hear ppl coming and going. Slamming doors, the upstairs ppl must have been practicing pole vaulting. After a miserable night of sleeping, we woke up early to prepare for the day. Wandered down for breakfast and ended up grabbing bananas and applesauce. I could just imagine what hot prepared food was like after seeing the pool. Needless to say, about a half hour later we were checking out. Will NOT go back, and do not recommend. Spend the extra $$ and get a better hotel.
Good location for eastern Portland metro area; good value for short stays; could benefit from more focus on the breakfast room. Room was clean, quiet, and allowed a restful overnight stay.
