June 26/18, spent a morning exploring parts of the old Fort and Park yesterday. Lovely sunny weather, beautiful memorial rose garden, small but interesting military museum, old historic battery positions, superb sea scapes, the mighty Columbia River et al, elk roaming around.
Worth a visit - can certainly recommend.

We LOVE Fort Stevens!

We didn't get to the museum, but drove along and explored many spots.

Battery Russell was the kids' favorite. I like the nature viewing and spot at the mouth of the Columbia.

A nice drive, next time we plan to pack snacks and hike some of the paths.

Located in a park area in Hammond Oregon. Lots of history to see both in the fort as well as the area surrounding the fort.

Love this state park with deer and elk in the park, picnics by the lake, walks on the beach and the banana pull through sites.
Only problem this time is that it was buggy

Camped here in February. A great winter camping place. Close to Warrenton, Hammond and Astoria. Lots of hiking/biking trails. Lakes to kayak or fish on and a number of beautiful ocean and river beaches. Also a visit to Fort Stevens itself is a must for the history of the place. It is free access to the park and there are plenty of free parking areas.
