Sakura Ridge - The Farm and Lodge
Ranked #3 of 13 Hood River B&B and Inns

I stayed at Sakura Ridge with my fiancee in the River room during early Oct 09. We arrived late at night and checked in ourselves. When we opened the door to our room, we knew we were in for something special. The room was extremely cosy and the heated toilet seat certainly was a revelation. The next morning we woke up to a spendid view of Mt Hood right from our room. Little did I imagine that I could enjoy the spectacular view of Mt hood from the comfort of my bath tub. The landscaping was stunning and since the lodge is perched on a hill it offered a great view of the valley below. What was even nicer was the fact that Deanne cooked us an amazing breakfast with farm fresh veggies ( loved the quiche) and the juicy peaches. We even bought some peaches from Deanne who was generous enough to offer it to us. It was just beautiful up there and we left the farm/lodge with a heavy heart. We just loved the whole experience and I'd definitely recommend this place to any couples seeking romantic getaways. You cannot go wrong with this one!

We stayed in the Mt. Adams room, which was on the second floor of the lodge. It was a beautifully decorated and nice sized room. A walk down the flight of stairs and out the back brought us out to a wonderful covered porch where we could sit and enjoy the view of Mt. Hood and the lambs grazing in the field. We stayed 2 nights and the breakfasts both mornings were just wonderful. We were able to enjoy cherries from the farm and nectarines from a neighbors farm. Our favorite things were the peacefulness of the farm, the location and of course the breakfasts. The one negative was out of anyone's control and that was that the wonderful view of Mt. Hood disappeared after the first day as the clouds and showers rolled in.

I don't know what I can add that's new to all the previous reviews that hasn't been said before, except maybe a few photos. Sakura Ridge B&B is amazing! Everything was perfect: the location, the views, the hosts, the food (oh, the food!!); the gardens; the tranquility.

We loved it so much, we are already planning to return! We stayed in the Mt. Hood room, which is on the lower level. Outside the room is your own small patio, and a couple of Adirondack chairs with a clear, unobstructed view of Mt. Hood. Besides the view of Mt. Hood you're treated to views of impeccable, gorgeous gardens and a small herd of lambs. The room is aqequately-sized with a huge super-comfortable bed, plenty of places to sit, a good-sized closet, and a nice bathroom. The bathroom has a shower in the claw-foot tub, and a toilet with seat warmer/bidet -- not something most of us in the US are used to! You'll also get to use nice soft cotton robes and "green" soaps, shampoos, etc.

The food/breakfasts were wonderfully creative and made with lots of local ingredients, some from the owners' own gardens and orchard. I was tempted to take pictures of the breakfasts; the presentation added to the experience! The owners are relaxed and friendly but not at all intrusive.

A nice feature of this B&B is a guest kitchen, where you can use the small fridge, microwave, dishes & utensils if you want to bring food in from town. The owners also provide teas, a coffee maker, and even microwave popcorn. There are plenty of spots to sit and eat, with several picnic tables outside and on the deck, as well as a table in the guest kitchen. Inside there are lots of places to just sit and read (books provided), play a board game, or just relax.

You're not far from the town of Hood River, but you feel as if you're in the middle of an expanse of quiet! The only sound at night was the crickets, and in the morning a far-away rooster and the soft bleats of the orchard's lambs. Living on east coast near a metropolitan area, we're not used to seeing many stars, but here we could actually see the Milky Way!

Being east-coasters, I wasn't looking forward to waiting until 8:30 for breakfast, but we ended up enjoying the hour or so before eating to walk around, wander the gardens and sit on the expansive deck watching the sun lift the fog from the valleys.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea...Sakura Ridge is a treasure. You won't be disappointed.

The view of Mt. Hood from this inn is just as good as it looks on the website. The grounds are meticulously kept, and the groves all around are both pretty and interesting. It is hard to describe the decor in the hotel, but it is very creative, fresh and appealing. Our breakfast included lots of fresh cherries, delicious coffee and several other wonderful items. The owners are pleasant and helpful. You will not be disappointed with this inn.

This B&B is amongst the very best. You know how something comes along that raises the bar to new levels? This is it. There are few places that can match the wonderful tranqil comfort and quality of sakura ridge.
When we had to leave we were emotional. THIS IS A SPECIAL PLACE.

Enjoy like we did and experience the very best of America.

Wow, what a place. Our room looks out to the spectacular view of Mt. Hood, in all its snow-covered grandeur. The location, in the foothills of Mt. Hood, but within about 5 miles of the town of Hood River (right on the Columbia River) gives this place some extra charm. Our room and outdoor patio have a 180-degree view. Lots of nice amenities too. Rooms are lovely. Comfy pillow-top mattresses and duvets.

We stayed at this fantastic B&B in late May. We spent 1 night in the Mt. Adams room. The room was very comfortable and cozy. The views from the back deck were amazing! The breakfast in the morning was delicious, with the berries picked right from the garden. John and Deanna were very friendly and gracious hosts, giving us some great ideas for how to spend our day.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet place with incredible views and good company.
