We have been staying at the Lakecliff on the beautiful Columbia River for over ten years. Our son found this charming B&B when it was being remodeled. We stayed there every year when we visited Hood River. Now we live in Portland and can stay with our son when we visit him in Hood River, but would rather stay at the b&b! The rooms are gorgeously appointed with private baths and stunning views. The breakfast is amazing, served on the serene deck overlooking the river, or in the beautiful dining room with a warm and inviting fireplace.
The owners become your family only better, because they really pamper you!
We are looking forward to our next visit in August.
You will not be sorry if you stay at Lakecliff!!
You will also enjoy sightseeing in the area, visiting wineries, hiking, biking, shopping...what ever you enjoy. Allyson will provide suggestions and help with your dinner reservations. A no hassle escape...what could be better?

As I lay here on this fabulously comfortable bed on our second day in the Daffodil room I find myself reconsidering going home tomorrow. A soft breeze in blowing in the window and my husband is napping beside me. Life just doesn't get any better then this.

The Inn itself is just incredible. The grounds, the beautiful fireplaces in every room, the absolutely wonderful breakfasts and the views!  Oh, the views. This was the perfect end to our Oregon vacation and certainly a stop we will never forget. Thank you Allyson for letting us enjoy your home and thanks for the terrific advice on things to see in the Gorge.

Our stay at Lakecliff (following a whitewater rafting day on the White Salmon River) was absolutely devine! Our hosts were perfect with Allyson offering us wine upon getting settled in. Allyson and James have paid very close attention to detail and treat their guests with grace, ambiance, and Southern-like hospitality. The grounds and this grand-ole home are definitely well cared for as Lakecliff is not only a B & B, but a "home away from home"! Highly recommended! Thanks for sharing your wonderful, historic, and peaceful setting and most of all, your charm.

First, I would like to address the horrible review that you have probably read. I asked Allison, the owner about the comments and she explained that the review was written while the inn was under different ownership.

We stayed in the Daffodil room which was perfect for us. We had a large window overlooking the Columbia River and loved the fireplace which kept us cozy warm during the cool morning as we prepared for breakfast. Allison makes the best pancakes I have ever tasted, which came with crispy bacon after a bowl of delicious mixed fruit.

Being on a cliff overlooking the river we never noticed the trains below since their sound never traveled up the cliff to our nest above. We saw trains on the other side of the river, but they were no bother either. We could hear the occasional sound of road traffic from the nearby interstate, but the woods surrounding the inn kept the noise down so it was not a bother at all.

We would definately stay here again.
