“Drove to Hood River after waterfall hikes in the gorge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

We started very early on Sunday morning and hit eight water falls in the gorge. After a total of twelve miles hiked in the gorge we drove to Hood River and put our name on the list. After a quick swim in the Columbia RIver our phone got a text saying our table was ready. We were a party of six with some dietary restrictions. This place had something for everyone and the ambience was excellent. A nice menu with some excellent local craft brews to go with it. To top it off the house 'smores was excellent. Wait staff was excellent and an overall excellent experience.

“Great food, great people”

We have been loyal fans of Solstice Wood Fire Cafe since their early days in Bingen, WA. We have always appreciated their focus on fresh, yummy, local foods. We happily make the trip over the bridge to the new location. The staff is helpful and friendly.

“Great location on Columbia River ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

The standard pizza combinations are very unusual. They were out of mushrooms so tried the pear pizza which was surprisingly great! . Margherita pizza has tomatoes but no sauce. Make your own combo pizzas get expensive quickly but they are very generous with toppings.

Great all local wine selection by the glass, carafe or bottle. Wide selection of beers. Can't go wrong spending a lovely afternoon or evening on the outdoor Terrace.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

We stopped on our way to Portland and found ourselves at Solstice. We sat outside, ate some awesome pizza that I cannot even begin to describe. One had cherries/sausage/mozzarella and then a pepperoni pizza for our non-experimenting child. We shared the Smores Desert and it was mouth watering, hot out of the wood fire oven, delicious. The waiters and waitresses were super friendly and kept us will a filled carafe of water to drink. I would love to live in the area to be able to try all of their pizzas! There were also other menu items that made us drool, but we stuck with our pizza choice, but the Mac and Cheese looked to die for! My youngest son wanted to move to Hood River because of the weather, the food and the laid back, casual atmosphere!

“Loved the atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

Loved that we were able to bike from the Best Western Hood River. We stopped in without a reservation and was seated immediately and was able to watch a beautiful sunset. Had a beer on tap and specialty drink (wife had the limoncello drop, and would have had more if we weren't driving bikes! Also order a few apps (Siragusa Pear Salad (they ran out of candied walnuts. Sad face), Yukon Gold Truffle wedges (great flavor) and had the Country Girl Cherry Pizza complete with Cherries, Chorizo, goat cheese and mozzarella! It was a great surprise! Son loved the Mac and Cheese. Unfortunately, they ran out of most desserts. Would have liked to try the homemade desserts but now i have an excuse to come back next time we are in the area.
