Nearby swimming hole for those who want to swim and a wonderful stop when visiting Crater Lake, A Fly Fisherman's heaven
They even have wi-fi in the main building!
Dinner was a delight, steelhead salmon, and for a young man Mac and Cheese...and of course wonderful region Pinot's red and white! Breakfast sends you off well fed.
We enjoyed others company in the library at the Inn.
A brilliant memory to take home

Be sure and ask for a riverside cabin. Such scenery and tranquility! Well appointed room; deck off the room that looks through the woods to the beautiful river. We stopped at lots of waterfalls along the N. Umpqua Highway. Enjoyable community wine hour and dinner. One dinner seating with everyone eating at table together. They made us a delicious sack lunch to take with us upon our departure. Definitely worth a stop, especially for fishermen.

Room Tip: Be sure and ask for a riverside cabin.

I stayed here in a River Cabin with a group of friends. The cabin was a former forest service property that had been converted in to a 3 bedroom vacation rental. The kitchen was fully equipped, which we made good use of. Overall, the property was immaculate and very private. The lodge staff were also very conscientious and welcoming. I have to agree however with the other reviewers about the extremely overpriced dinner. The food was properly cooked, but unexceptional. The "fine dining" description on the website did not fit our evening menu of corn on the cob, beef with bbq sauce, garden salad and some memorably good foccacia bread. This was preceded by some buffet-style appetizers and followed by a cobbler dessert. The meal was rustic but perfectly fine, except for the $50 price tag. I have heard very good things about the food at the lodge and was startled by how basic the dinner was, given what they were charging. And I appreciate that they have to truck the food in from a considerable distance. Maybe we were just there on an unimaginative menu night.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed it! The Inn is pretty remote and sits right on the North Umpqua River (very beautiful). We had the Falls Suite and it was a great room with a stunning view over the river. Our very private balcony was a great place to retreat with a glass of wine after a tough day of fishing. ;-) We had dinner one night in the dining room. There were 57 guests for dinner that evening and we think the staff was a little overwhelmed. Even so, the food was very good and very plentiful. Be aware that there is no cell phone service, no TV, and only occasional (and very slow) wifi. Excellent if you want to go off the grid! The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. We will certainly go back!

Room Tip: The Falls Suite is very private, quite large, and has a great view!

I went with a group of friends to the inn on a weekday for lunch. The menu is very nice. I had a sandwich to die for called Millie's Mess. The food, service and atmosphere were all very good. It's about a 35-40 minute drive from roseburg, but the scenery is worth the drive. After eating lunch, we walked in the garden a while. It was all good.

The place is as promised... Isolated, beautiful, back to nature.

It was a welcome stop on our road trip. Though pricey, it lived up to our expectations! however. I found the whole dining experience to be rather pretentious and expensive!! I would NOT recommend eating there with children under the age of 30! Or be prepared to pay 70 dollars for two mac and cheese! In spite of the place being special, this left a bitter taste in my mouth.

We stayed in a cabin- fairly secluded, beautiful setting. Ate dinner there one night and breakfast for 2 days. Good food and service. Took three hiking trails with waterfalls that were close. Will definitely come back!
