“Tranquility in a pastoral setting”

I've visited this lovely place for about seven years and stay there while in the area working. I have visited and inspected many B&Bs in the state of Oregon, and the Innkeepers here truly do make one feel at home. No detail spared, breakfast is wonderful, conversation is easy, and the scene is bucolic. One could hardly ask for more.

Room Tip: All rooms are nicely decorated and furnished. Larger rooms in the Inn are on the ground floor, upsta...

Stayed two nights in this historic B&B, built in 1857. Tina and Nikki are the most gracious hosts. We have been to many, many B&Bs and this house is kept in pristine condition. We loved sitting on the veranda, watching a robin try to build a nest on the front door's wreath and seeing Chickadees flying in and out of the birdhouses hanging from the trees. The rooms are comfortable, extremely clean and tastefully furnished to complement this wonderful Victorian home. A perfect stop on our way from Seattle to San Francisco. Jacksonville is a delightful little town.

Room Tip: Be aware that you need to carry your luggage up a narrow stairway to the second floor.

My husband & I are B&B people. So we have stayed at dozens over the years. This is one of few times where we both said, "this is a 10!". Tina was our host for the one night we were there, and she is the perfect person to own/run a B&B. It's clear she loves people, has great attention to detail, & is a fabulous cook. She does it all with the most beautiful smile! We stayed in the Elizabethan Room. The bed was so comfortable, & the room cleaned to my impossible standards. The sitting rooms inside the Inn are so cozy & peaceful. The outside environment was top notch too, even in February. Oh, and when we arrived Tina had put out lemon rosemary sugar-free cookies (home-made) for my type 1 diabetic husband. And when she heard he can actually eat most things (thanks to his insulin pump), she pulled out the real deal, peanut-butter chocolate chip cookies. Both where so yummy! The small town of Jacksonville is abt 2 miles down the road, & it is one of the most charming towns. Tina was spot on in her referral for a dinner place. And THEN, in the morning we were treated to the most elegant & delicious breakfast. If we're ever anywhere in the state of Oregon again, we will make our way to Bybee's Inn. Thanks again Tina for such a wonderful stay.

Tina and Vickie are such gracious hostesses, we cannot say enough good things about the warm welcome we received!

Here are the highlights:

*We arrived late. Tina was in touch with us by phone, and left us the key so we could come in and get settled as soon as we arrived.
*Go at Christmas if you can! Two enormous Christmas Trees in the Parlor and the Dining area! Both were beautifully decorated and complimented the inn. Other decor abounds, including garlands, stockings, santas, and other lovely touches. We even had a small Christmas tree in our room.
*We stayed in the Renaissance room, which had a queen bed (so comfortable!) and a two-person spa tub in the bathroom. There is also a double shower head shower stall (not necessarily large enough for two). The room also had a small "fireplace" (electric heater with faux log) at the foot of the bed, to keep the room toasty during our stay.
*Breakfast was a delicious affair, with a fruit dish to start, followed by the main course, and a third course with a sweet treat. We stayed two nights, and at the first breakfast we enjoyed a broiled grapefruit with ginger, a poached egg with chutney and bacon, and a blintz with warm peach compote. The second morning we had a poached spiced pear, scrambled eggs with herbs, bacon, and a "creme brulee french toast". All were delicious, served with coffee and juice.
*There is a library stocked with games, books, and menus for local restaurants as well as several chairs. There are also several places to sit in the parlor, where my husband and I enjoyed a few quite moments just looking at the beautiful tree.
*There is a "butler's pantry" with a fridge stocked with sodas, water, and ice cream, in case you need a snack or something to drink. We were encouraged to use what we needed.
*There is a pond and outdoor bbq, which we could see but did not use, since it was snowing while we were visiting. The snow made the entire property look magical.

I can honestly say that the entire property looked JUST like the photos on the website. Every room is well decorated and inviting - and not "overly" decorated. It didn't feel as though we were staying at Grandma's house, overflowing with stuffy doilies and knick-knacks. It felt as though we were stepping into a lovely, inviting oasis. The innkeepers have separate quarters behind the house, so I did not have the feeling of "intruding" in someone's home. It was the perfect blend of "hotel" and "visiting friends".

Thank you for a lovely stay - we will definitely be back! :)

Room Tip: Look at the photos on their website to see which room appeals to you. Tastes in decor differ, so lo...

Loved-- loved-- loved-- this break from the modern world. Walking into this mansion was like time traveling to a wonderful place in history. The decorations were exquisite, the art was lovely and the hosts were fabulous. My hubby and I had an amazing night there and are going back as soon as we can. I would recommend this for anyone needing to decompress. I wish I could have moved in for a week just to truly relax. The environment is so peaceful the food was amazing and each room was a work of art.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Elizabethan well worth the additional money.

We are in a small group that has been doing annual retreats at Bed and Breakfasts for 30 years. Our stay at the Bybee Historic Inn was exceptional with perfectly decorated rooms, beautiful grounds, and delightful breakfasts on the porch. Tina, Vikki, and Lila gifted us with their hospitality, making us feel like family in their home and paying attention to the smallest detail to make the weekend our best one yet.

Tina and Vickie invite you into their home and make you feel welcome. This old inn is kept in meticulous condition. Everything is clean and fresh. It is evident that they take great pride in maintaining this old home and the grounds around it. The landscaping is beautiful and there are birds everywhere. Every bird house was full of chicks this spring. Many of the flowers and herbs show up in breakfast.

Breakfast is a gourmet experience. Tina takes great care to provide taste sensations with a few fresh ingredients. You will be pleased.

The sleeping rooms are comfortable and furnished beautifully.

We stayed here while seeing plays at the Oregon Shakespeare festival. The half hour drive was worth it to end up in this bucolic country settting.
