“Little Switzerland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

Loved this area as much as I did 20 years ago! The campground is clean and well run, despite being so large. We got a ton of wood for $5! We even shared some with our neighbor, who left us a book he had written in the morning. We were the first ones on the tramway at 9am. We hiked around the top for an hour or so, then ate at the restaurant at the top. The prices were actually reasonable, though my daughter reminded me that we paid quite a bit to board the tramway! We drove to the Hell's Canyon overlook, though I wish we had braved the dirt road to Hat Point. Joseph is a wonderful town to explore.

“Fabulous little museum of natural history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Completely free, and right down town in Joseph, a quick trip to this lovely center will prepare the entire family for your exploration of the natural wonders that surround you. Expert volunteers that have worked and lived in the surrounding valley have put their heart and soul into sharing their knowledge; and making it really kid friendly with hands on workshops.

“Nice clean park”

Really nice and clean state park. No day fee, and there are boat rentals for a fair price. Good parking.

“Pretty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

Its been a few years since my trip, but the bottomless lake is awesome and really cold all the time and clear as can be for as far as you can see down. I visited here while visiting my dad and it was beautiful, lots of wildlife just walking around. Fun little nature day trip.

“Great views, pretty lake, too many people!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Too many people in peak season!!!!! Go in June or wait until after Labor Day! The park gets packed and is noisy even until 10:00 at night with campers literally screaming and yelling and the camp cops don't seem to do anything about it. The resident deer which are a main attraction barely come around because of all the noise and commotion, and it's a competition to get to the showers or the bathrooms. If you like camping with 3000 of your closest neighbors and people you don't want to get to know, lots of dust, dirt and noise, then go in July and August. We've been many times before and it was always a very enjoyable time BUT we went in September after Labor Day. Now I remember why. Will visit again but NEVER in July or August!!!
