“Very adequate”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Trip a bit longer than expected found ourselves in need of a room. Called a few and they were booked. Cimarron was eager to accommodate us with our dog! Very friendly customer service during both evening and day shift. Security on site. Room was great!! Hardwood floors a bonus. Breakfast bar was outstanding with hot entrees available. Very affordable.... I would highly recommend.

Although the town doesn't have much to do other than it being near Crater Lake, the room is nice and you get a free breakfast, which is great. They will drive you around in their van for FREE and will do their best to pick you up whenever you call them, which really is amazing. If you are taking the Amtrack out, they will drop you off there in time and when you check out you can sit around in the lobby. The rooms are great and I had my best sleep in over a week!

The staff are so nice and I would recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Try and stay near the front office to be close to the breakfast room, which is to the right of the f...

We visited here on Memorial weekend, stayed for 3 days.
I will hit the highlights first, as I always believe in "good things first"; the staff was very nice (the poor, over worked girl in the breakfast room was very kind), the room was adequate (we stayed in a renovated room in the new wing), it was very busy but we did not hear a great deal of noise (our room was on the second floor and at the back). There was a small 'fridge and a microwave in the room. The maid service was wonderful, we stay all over the country and leave notes galore for maids and hardly ever receive what we ask for but we did here.
The hotel is situated behind a restaurant and in 2 different parts. Evidently the old hotel is to the right of the new wing and behind a just destroyed building, rubble behind a fenced in area. There is only one ice machine, next to the breakfast room, the breakfast was very small and we had to wait 20 minutes for eggs. I paid extra for another person, even though we weren't sure she was coming b/c their website said everyone needs a ticket for breakfast and the "evening soup and cookies". Not necessary at all, no one gives tickets or takes tickets and the soup and cookies were missing the cookies. We did not have breakfast there again, after the first morning, so we felt a bit bummed at paying extra when we saw lots of families in rooms- we assumed they paid extra too :)
The upstairs rooms have a stair way that culminates in a ash can that people tend to surround and smoke there, if you are sensitive to smoke, don't take those rooms. The bathroom window opens and looks out onto a walking path but upstairs seems safe enough. There is a small pool in front of the check in desk area, lots of kids were enjoying it that weekend.
There may be cheaper motels to stay at in Klamath Falls and perhaps nicer, I would definitely look around if we went back.
Overall, I would say it is a fine enough motel to spend a short amount of time in and it is centrally located to Crater Lake, the railroad, the casino and stores like Albertsons and Walmart. There is also a pretty good Chinese restaurant down the street across from the motel and a Denny's for a cheap breakfast directly across the street (they take coupons from any state). For our Crater lake trip (there was huge snow there) we bought sandwiches from Albertsons (just in the next parking lot) and brought 2 thermos bottles from home and filled them with hot soup from the deli and hot chocolate from the breakfast room that first morning. And the ultimate best thing about this trip was that we discovered there is no tax in Oregon! If you buy something for $8, it is $8- geez I could get used to that right away.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street behind the restaurant in the parking lot but if you don't li...

We were just passing through and were surprised how nice the hotel was even though the price was low. It wasn't an amazing "destination" hotel, but it was a great place to stay a night and the breakfast was terrific.

The room was clean and the property was nice. We even get soup and cookies in the evening. But breakfast was a bunch of empty bowls at 8am. And the gal that checked us in refused to honor the AAA discount, had a poor attitude and was unfriendly. We asked for a downstairs handicap room and were denied, saying they were out of downstairs rooms. I told her she offered the group before us upstairs or downstairs and they took the upstairs, so why was the downstairs not available now? I even told her one of us were handicap and she dug in until I gave her a hard time back. Finally got a downstairs room, turns out it was a handicap room but right next door to a family with a small kid that had more energy than parenting. That kid kept running around their room and we heard every bit of it until after midnight. We complained 4 times and the front office did nothing to stop it. The walls are thin and the noise was excessive. Too bad the staff was so bad because the property was nice.

When I went to check in the staff immediately impressed me as friendly and helpful. I went back there in the first half hour a few times, and they never seemed impatient with me. There were also cookies and soup one could have which might make a light supper for someone.

While the building had an older, vintage appearance, the rooms did not feel old. They were a little on the small side, but were comfortable with a small table to sit at. We did have trouble logging onto the wifi. My laptop logged on with no problems, but iPads had difficulty and were impossibly slow when they were logged on. Breakfast was in a nice room and offered some hot items which was nice. However, I arrived 20 minutes before the end of the breakfast time and there was very little food left. Only one of the hot options was available, and other containers were empty. Someone did ask for some more food and the attendant did bring some out, but I don't think that should be necessary. If the breakfast is open, food should be available. All in all the place was a good value for our purposes.
