I come here a lot to pick up lunch, sometimes for food to take to a family gathering. Prices are so good that I can afford to feed several. My favorite is the hurache--not a shoe. It's like a tostada only with a thick, homemade cornmeal/tamale like crust topped with beans, lots of fresh lettuce, meat and a bit of crema. The salsa bar features a variety of homemade salsas, fresh lime, cilantro, onions, peppers and chopped cabbage.
A typical plate costs $5.75.
Raul also owns Cinco de Mayo down the street, which has a larger menu. This taqueria offers not only inexpensive, fresh and delicious food, but is a smart business run by a hardworking local family.
